My son attacked by PIT BULL

Okay, I'm confused as to what the problem is here.
This dog is clearly a menace, (most likely due to poor owner care) but a menace, nonetheless. WHY is nothing being done?
In my area, if a dog is a problem, it is put down. The owners are liable for damage.
It seems to me that there MUST be something else that can be done. Has the media been alerted? Get them on your side. Absolutely find another attorney, if the one you have isn't going to get you more than $50. Your son's (and his dog's) medical bills should be covered AT THE VERY LEAST. I'm with a previous poster. You son may very well suffer from PTSD in the future. That needs to be accounted for, as well.
I could go on and on, but this injustice seems WAY over the top here.

That dog is a weapon. The owners should be liable for attacking your son, just as if they had shot him with a gun.

I think you are getting poor legal advice. Please seek a second opinion.

Just wanted to update...My son is doing very well, he is determined to get full use back in his hand and is doing everything humanly possible to get there...we feel so blessed!!! and Armani is doing wonderful!! back to his fun puppy self....

Yes, I couldn't agree more should be done!!! I hear ppl get help, things are done..well I guess thats only in the movies, cause we have done everything humanly possible, to have something happen, we do have that hearing with animal control first week of may, so we are praying that does something....will keep you updated! thanks so much to everyone for all your good thoughts and prayers.

To all the bully breed haters, that's ok by me, you don't have to love them, as I shouldn't be forced to feel anything that I don't want to...but please don't bash the breeds as a general, and please do some research before you form your concrete opinions.

I will say, though, that MANY people need to keep better control of their dogs! Dogs cannot be allowed to run loose in the streets, and people really need to step up and be responsible for the damages that their dogs cause. Training and control are key with ALL animals!!!!

I agree with you 100% it's not the breed so don't hate them for being what the owners raised them to be . Their true nature is sweet and loveable .I do hope the owners of the dog are held accountable for everything .Sadly its the dog that will likely lose large all because of a stupid owner .

after reading all the post, I know I should of put dog instead of the breed, I am an animal lover, I love every single one out there...I blame the owners, if you are going to have a big animal, esp. one with a bad reputation, and you love your animal, then you need to take precautions, as in training and leashes. What I dont get, cause I love my dogs (rotty and 2 yorkies) why would you ever put your dog in a situation, where you might have it taken away from you, or worse yet, put down?

Goog god that is horrible . The pit owners should not have a dog period .Such negligence are they being charged and paying for medical expenses ?
