She speaks quite a lot, barks like the yorks, then she'll say ''Chut'' be quiet. Imitates the phone, will actually carry on a conversation; hello how are you, is that so, goodby. Or she'll sing whathever caught her fancy on the radio that day. Our dogs slowly got used to not chasing her when she flew off and generally tolerate her when she is walking around on the floor.

So all in all, it's been a good experience and would never give any of them up for anything.

We have a sun conure named Frisco. We've had her for over 10 years I think. Seems like forever. She was given to us by a family member because Frisco annoyed her Quaker Hootie and Hootie stopped talking so we got her. And up until about 5 years ago we thought she was a boy til my brother was bird sitting and call us to say the bird laid an egg. Very surprising! She is so loud! You can hear her outside the house but she doesn't really talk to make other noise besides squawking. If you catch her in a good mood she will whisper Frisco to you.

I have a U2 (Umbrella Cockatoo). Boo is a female and she is around five years old now. I've had her out of an egg and handfed her. She doesn't know she's a bird. She thinks she's a Yorkie. Noel, is her best friend. I tell Noee go give Boo kiss and Noel will run to her and lick her all over her beak and face. Boo has her own room and is out of the cage all day long. A lot of times you'll find her up on top of the back of the couch, looking out the window with the Yorkies and barking right along with them. She also take the ball and calls Noeee Noeee and when Noel come running to her she throws the ball to her or if all the Yorkies are waitiing and barking for Boo to throw the ball she'll always manage to make sure that Noel is the one that catches it. The only downside is she is very destructive. They are chewers so she is in her own room most of the time, unless I can supervise her 100 percent. She's already destroyed the keyboard on two laptops We really love her though. She's a gentle giant and the Yorkies have taken her in as one of them. They play together of course supervised.

Aww that was my first bird. My Abigail. I hand fed her right out of an egg. I had her four years and then became very ill. My stupid medical doctor swore it was "A Typical Pnemonia" He said that parrots carry a germ and some people are more suseptable to it. I was heartbroken when he said the only way I'd get better was to find her a new home. I was getting sicker and sicker. Anyway, we found a semi retired couple that fell in love with her and gave her and all her stuff to them. A month later we found out it was not Abigail that made me sick. I had leukemia that my doctor missed. My husband called the couple and offered them $2,000 to buy her back but they got very attatched and would not give her back. My heart was so broken. After, I recovered from the Leukemia, my husband took me for a drive one day and we ended up in the front of a house and I had no idea why. Turned out he bought a beautiful baby U2 (Umbrella Cockatoo) for me for our 20th Wedding Anniversary. We walked into this house and I had no idea why we were there. And, then out comes this baby U2 who proceeds to walk over to me and lift my glasses up and say "Hi." My husband then said to me; "I know it will never replace Abby, but I also know that you always wanted a Cockatoo so rather then get you another sun conure with a constant reminder of Abby, I got you the U2 you always wanted." The day I drove home with her, she sat on my shoulder dancer to Maggie May by Rod Stewart. She is so sweet and despite what people say Boo does not scream all day long. She's pretty quiet for a Too. Elaiine, that is so great you're parrot and yorkeis get along. I can trust my dogs not to approach Bonito, but not my foster dogs. LOL....my dogs are somewhat afraiid of him.

Bonito does get a lot of time out of his house (cage, we try not to refer to it as such), our patio is screened in and on nice days, he gets to fly and stretch his wings.

We got Bonito at 5-6 weeks and had to hand feed him....which was great, as he doesn't know he is a bird either.

A couple of pictures of him at about 6 months.

I have a 13 year old African grey named Jesse that I adopted as a baby in 1997. He is so smart, he knows about 200 words that he uses appropriately and he sings a lot of songs. He really likes "Who Let the Dogs Out". I can't let him out in the same room as the dogs, he likes them but he is afraid of them and if he flies or falls off his cage, they will chase him. I also have a really old White-front Amazon that I adopted from a pet store after she had lived there in a really small cage for close to 20 years. I have had her for 15 years now. She has only bonded to me, she hates all the rest of the family, she is not really social but at least she has got to live in a home where she is loved for her golden years. Until you live with birds, it is really hard to imagine how smart they are. I really enjoy my birds but I may have to place them with my son, as I have really bad asthma and all the dust has really been bothering me for the last couple of years. Every time I go into the bird room to vacuum, I end up having a bad asthma attack and a hard time breathing for a couple of days. Birds are great, but sadly, they can cause some health problems for the owners, if you are susceptible to lung problems.

On this laptop I do have a pic; I think this was taken last Christmas. Fiona is on the bottom and Jasper the top perch. They like to perch on the coffee table and watch tv...

I'm still working with the linnies; they aren't hand tame yet. Phoenix is a turquoise color and Ivy is a grass green. They make the cutest sounds! I just love listening to them. Here is a video I found on youtube that really lets you hear the cute sounds they make. This is not my video however...but if you've never heard a linnie you're in for a treat...
