Donating YT 11K Club Member | I know there's a couple hair stylist here.. I wanted to ask you a question. I got my hair highlighted yesterday but I really don't like them They don't look natural like I wanted them to..I did the Balayage(sp) highlights and are supposed to look like sunkissed highlights but they look like the streaky ones ppl get done. My natural hair color is like a light brown..i also don't like the color of the highlights. So..is there anyway I can get rid of them? Do it myself? I'm really bummed it didn't come out how I wanted them to

| Do you know if color was applied to the highlights or was the hair just stripped to a lighter color?

Donating YT 11K Club Member | It's bayalage..i think it was just stripped...i am not sure though. She didn't use foil...she used cotton balls. See I did bayalage before and I LOVED them! But the lady that did them isnt there anymore so i went with this other lady that was recommended

| did she tone it afterward? I am not familiar with the particular type of highlights that you got but I know that in the past if they didn't tone my hair that it would not look right or would look too fakey (mine is med brown naturally)... if you like the lightness of them but not the tone you could have them put a toner on it to get more of the look that you want. I am not sure if this is something that you could do your self or not, but at my salon it isn't a very expensive part of the process, and makes a huge difference in overall look. I am not a pro but thought that I would throw it out there

| Color is sometimes added to the bayalage technique of highlighting. If your certain no color was applied I would suggest a level 2 box color to tone the highlights down, however ,if color was applied to the highlight you will not get a good result by adding color. Sorry to hear about your bad hair day

| You can always do a test piece as the box always recomends that nobody pays attention to...lol My concern is having your highlights turn an ash green. Have you ever tried the color shampoo & conditioner? Pantene has a great one, I use the brown to darken my hilights when my roots grow in. John Frieda also has color glaze which is awsome, only $12 and won't damage your hair.

| well I say summer is coming and you will be sorry that you got rid of the highlights. You can try toning them down if the color is too brassy.

Donating YT 11K Club Member | Well here's a bunch of pics so you can see the diff. I think I realize now why I don't like it. Here are some before pics..Pic 1 and pic 2(really old pics lol) was the first time I did highlights by that other lady. I really liked them and I think because she did them so subtle cause I was scared at the time to get them done. The 3rd pic is my reg. brown hair and the 4th pic is cause I just cut it so that's how it looked 2 days ago.

Donating YT 11K Club Member | Here's them now! The first 2 are just back shots...my hair is not done at all so you can see the color..and the 3rd pic I really hate..it's not blown out well but I have bangs so that's how they look with the highlights which I hate. I see now-I think she did too much. She took bigger chunks than the last lady and the color is just too much..not really subtle like I wanted What do you guys think? My SIL said I can buy something in the beauty supply store to tone down the color..it's just too bright for me.

| First of all you have a beautiful head of hair! So beautiful I am now thinking of growing my hair out. It does look like the chunking technique as it's so much lighter than your 1st color but it does look very pretty. Do you not like the shade or maybe your not used to it? It's hard to tell but I looks like a reddish tone and I don't know if the hair was not stripped down to blonde or if it's the color application. Before you spend $$ on correction try the john frieda color glaze in brown, I think you will be pleased. Good luck and if you decide to leave it it really looks pretty
