| My son takes his driver's test tomorrow morning. . . I think I'm more nervous than he is! Although, I'm sure he'll do fine, he's a great driver! I already went through this once with my daughter, but that was 4 years ago . . .you'd think I'd be an old pro at this. . .lol I pray he passes!

| Good Luck to your son, I'm sure he'll do great! I know how nervous you are. I have 4 kids and everytime one had their driving test I was a wreck. All four passed their test the first time with flying colors. Tomorrow your son will be the proud owner of a drivers liscense.

| I, too, am sending good luck vibes to your son. I think often we, as parents, are more worried about these types of things than our children are! He'll likely breeze through the test in no time - no worries. No doubt, tomorrow you'll be posting about how well he did. (Meanwhile, I'm due for the same experience come spring when dd turns 16... wow, where'd the time go?! - I still feel like I'm around 16 sometimes ... lol) Anyway, good luck is en route!!! ~Susan

| Wishing him the best of luck! Mine was only 5 years ago so I remember it pretty clearly still & man oh man was I nervous! Tell him not to forget his seat belt. The little things are easy to forget when you're nervous and around here thats an automatic failure - I would know it almost cost me I had the seat belts where the shoulder belts automatically came back on you when you started the car but you still had to buckle the lap belt. The instructor forgot his too though so he didn't fail me luckily!

| Thanks everyone!! He passed his on the road test!! Now, we have to go to the DMV on Thursday so he can take his final written exam (it's a new law in CT) and then I can actually say he's a licensed driver. He hated missing school today, he had to be at his driving school at 8am because the DMV instructor was coming there to do the testing. Come to find out, he was the 2nd to last person on the list. So, in reality, he didn't have to be there till 12pm. He sat there all that time and didn't get on the road till 12:45. So, even though he's ecstatic he passed, he missed a couple of important classes this morning, that he could of went to. He's my 3.9 GPA high honor student. So Thursday, we are off to the DMV, but he's going to school first (his choice) our DMV moves at a VERY slow pace. I don't expect to get out of there until the testing center closes at 5pm.

| Congrats and good luck on the written. Here in Tn you take the written part first for the learner's permit. Then after you log so many hrs you take the road test. If you are over 16 I think you still take the written part first.

Here too. He had to take a written test for his permit that was in July. They have to have 30 hours of classroom and 40 hours of on the road training. Then on October 1st, Connecticut passed a new law for all new 16 & 17 year old drivers that a "final" written test be given prior to them receiving their license. Unfortunately, there was no grandfathering, so he has to take the final test. Things have changed a lot since my daughter got her license.

| We have a new licensed driver in our house!! I picked him up right after school and took him to the DMV . . we only were there 2 hours . . . He passed his final written with a 100%! I wish the DMV didn't take forever . . .he took his written almost immediately and new he passed, then we had to wait for them to call on him so he can get his pic taken . . . But, now, I am completely done with EVER having to go to the DMV again! Yippppeeeee!! Congrats to my son on his awesome achievement!

Donating YT 7000 Club Member | Congratulations to him!!! It's soooo exciting! I'm on my permit right now. In april I go for my Provisional License. I'm not "free" until 18, but in NJ you only have to take the written test once (thank goodness!!), and that's when you get your permit.

| congratulations to your son. My son is taking his six hours behind the wheel on dec. 13 and 14. It all seems to be happening so fast. He just got his first job a couple of weeks ago, now driving. ARGH. Seems like just yesterday I was changing his diapers. Elaine |
