Here too. He had to take a written test for his permit that was in July. They have to have 30 hours of classroom and 40 hours of on the road training. Then on October 1st, Connecticut passed a new law for all new 16 & 17 year old drivers that a "final" written test be given prior to them receiving their license. Unfortunately, there was no grandfathering, so he has to take the final test.

Things have changed a lot since my daughter got her license.
