| Virus Protection Is there REALLY FREE virus protection? Does anyone have it? Do you trust it? We pay, I think, $50 yr for Norton. I was told I'm wasting my money, because you can get free protection. Can someone tell me some names you trust for free virus protection? Thanks!!

| PC Tools Antivirus is pretty good and they always are updating the data base. Adware is a good one for spyware.

| We have been using avast! for several years and have had absolutely no problems. It's constantly updating the most recent upgrades.

| My cousin (a computer geek) once told me that the free AVG is the one he uses. That was when I was considering spending $50 for Norton that I really couldn't afford. It's worked great for us so far.

| We used AVG on our old PC, but then switched to Avast! Viruses got in with both, but they were caught right away. We also used Adware and Spybot. No, I would not spend money on Norton either. BTW, these were put on our comp by someone who works in IT at a college...

| I would NEVER EVER EVER pay for Nortons...hek, i wouldnt put in it my computer even if it was free!! One time when i had Nortons ..and went to renew it...it wiped out my entire harddrive. i had to reinstall EVERYTHING! Come to find out..same thing happened to my neighbor! I, also, use AVG...it updates all the time and seems to work good!!

| Just get a mac. You won't have to worry about viruses until apples are the main OS used in the world, which I don't think will ever happen. You pay for more up front,, but they are much more powerful. Or you can buy a used one from craigslist for a few hundred bucks. That's what I've been doing for years. Never one single virus, even when bf goes to those "adult" sites that are ridden with viruses, LOL of course they are huh?
