| My kids and I will be getting the Flu shot. In my opinion the Flu kills more people per year than the Swine Flu. |

| We are getting ready at the end of this month for our hospital. I still am debating about it. I talked to a few about it and I am still unsure. I have yet to get a flu vaccine either. I just don't know.... I have been talking to a few nurses and most are against it.

| I second what PenPen said! I have never had the flu, or the flu shot. I am not about to take that swine flu shot either.

| I feel the same way. But now that I will be working in the ICU I have to think about my patients first. Healthcare workers are one of the first group to have the shot available. I don't know...

| Kim, What reasons do most of the nurses give against having the vaccine? Are they against the seasonal vaccine and swine? I usually get the regular flu shot and did get that this year, but I am nervous about the swine vaccine since it's so new.

I personally have never taken any flu vaccinations that I can remember, so that is why it concerns me a bit. I have a pretty strong immune system (so far) and really don't get sick very often. The ones most at risk are the young, elderly or those that have a compromised immune system. But they say the ones that are getting it the most are school age (kindergarden through college) which means that being 25 I am more suseptible of getting it, but most likely I can fight it off.

| I have decided . . . I have decided to forego both regular and swine flu vaccines this year. I have gotten the flu shot every year for as long as I can remember. However, I am 26 years old and relatively healthy--so this year I am going to try extra-hard to take my vitamins and see what happens! |

| Vaccines are dangerous. We seem to be so concerned about our dogs being overvaccinated and turn around and vaccinate our precious children. Educate yourselves and SAY NO!

| I would never allow this vaccine to be administered to my children nor would I ever take it myself......This is another scare tactic by government and pharmaceutical officials.....Just for the fact that these vaccines contain toxic preservatives and adjuvants is enough for me...Let alone there are no studies done to prove flu vaccines even work........ This is from a research scientist for the government of Australia addressing squalene, this same ingredient was in the anthrax vaccine given to Golf War Veterans and many of them are now seriously ill........ According to Dr. Viera Scheibner, Ph.D: “… this adjuvant [squalene] contributed to the cascade of reactions called "Gulf War Syndrome," documented in the soldiers involved in the Gulf War. The symptoms they developed included arthritis, fibromyalgia, lymphadenopathy, rashes, photosensitive rashes, malar rashes, chronic fatigue, chronic headaches, abnormal body hair loss, non-healing skin lesions, aphthous ulcers, dizziness, weakness, memory loss, seizures, mood changes, neuropsychiatric problems, anti-thyroid effects, anaemia, elevated ESR (erythrocyte sedimentation rate), systemic lupus erythematosus, multiple sclerosis, ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis), Raynaud’s phenomenon, Sjorgren’s syndrome, chronic diarrhoea, night sweats and low-grade fevers.” What most people don't realize is that it will take months or years for any adverse reactions to manifest, which also applies to an increased risk for developing Alzheimer's that is linked to the aluminum and mercury in the regular flu vaccine..... The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) states that about 36,000 people die from the flu each year, this is an false...... The real number is just a few hundred - maybe one or 2 percent of the reported numbers. Most of the other people died from pneumonia, not from the flu. There will be people who will die from the flu, whether it's the regular flu or the swine flu, but that happens every year .... This is generally a mild flu and I see no reason for the panic the media is trying to create..... This is just one article from Dr. Mercola to put this in perspective..... Squalene: The Swine Flu Vaccine?s Dirty Little Secret Exposed

| I'm with jp4m2. I do not plan to take the H1N1 vaccine. As a matter of fact I don't take the regular flu vaccine anymore. I'm more on the prevention bandwagon; eating healthy, taking care of myself, etc. The body is designed to take care of itself if we will just give it what it needs.
