I moved in with my boyfriend like after a month of seeing him

I know not the BEST IDEA but I just knew it was right, and we have been with eachother for 3 years as well as living together.

You and your bf have already been together for 4 years..So I dont see why it wouldnt work out. I would think living with your bf is easier than a roomate... but thats just me. I am not the best person for advice bc I just go with the flow

I would say go for it and see what happens.

In reading this thread, You seem sensible, and the advise all seems very sound!
Noone has mentioned the laundry, vacuuming... etc... get those things ironed out too (oh, and the ironing

) It isn't just the finances that change, it IS the balance of a relationship! Step cautiously! The things that are "ok" or "sweet" now, may not be so sweet once you are stuck in a place you can't afford to get out of...
I have "shacked-up" twice... once it ended in marriage... and divorce

and this time it is 15 years, and it is still MOSTLY wonderful!

Good luck... (you can always count on your YT buddies to have a world of advice)

Thanks! As of right now i'm leaning towards living by myself but if that happens i feel like i would barely see my bf because right now we only live 10 blocks away from each other so its super easy to just up and go to each others houses-but if i were to move i already know which neighborhood i would move to-astoria,Qnz and i live in upper west side manhattan right now-so if i did do that its not like he can easily go to queens and we will both be busy with work. i feel like our relationship will suffer cause of that. I just dont know what to do- i guess it will all work out when it does happen, we will have to talk about everything. I dont know if im ready to move in with a guy yet- i never have oficially done that

Thanks so much!!! What worries me the most is being able to afford it-which i will make sure i save enough before moving in-and 2 balancing school and work because i will be returning to school for interior design which i heard is very hard! And the other thing that worries me is balancing the relationship if we do move in together-but then again if we dont live together it will be harder. But the cleaning and all that-thats a breeze-he can take care of that! LOL im jk! I like cleaning when its my own place so its no problem and he is the cook usually but i am going to teach myself to cook- all those things i know will work out cause once im in my own place i will want to do them

I like the advice of keeping finances seperate. Also, discussing who will pay for what and basically any and every detail you can think of in advance I'm sure will be a BIG help. I also agree with the advice of living in a place that you can afford with or without a roomate. I've been married for close to 12 years. Got married at 19. At that young it was def. hard to stay together (still is! LOL!) but you can do it. Not everyone is a statistic! And being prepared and having detailed discussions in advance is what will get you through. Good Luck!
