| I'm a native Cali girl. Grew up in Orange County.(where Mickey Mouse lives!) I've lived in the Bay Area for 24 years. I LOVE California. Like everyone says...We have everything! ....beaches, deserts, mountains, redwoods, it's beautiful.....HOWEVER....The taxes are the highest in the country. We pay the most for gas and the state is broke! We have to release 40,000 prisoners in the next 2 years because we don't have room. A high percentage of the prisoners are illegal aliens (my DH works for the Sheriffs dept). We have a lot of homeless people because of the nice weather. It is so expensive here that you can't afford to retire here! So, we will be moving to another state in a couple of years. Sorry this is so long! Think twice about where you move to. Good luck! Donna

| How about the Garden State near the shore? Trips back to NY by car, train, or bus.

Donating YT 11K Club Member | That's funny cause actually my neighbors are moving there in a couple weeks! They are so excited. Especially cause their apt. is going to be bigger than the one they have here and they will be paying less money. They've been here for i think a yr, im excited for them though!

I agree...i mean i love NY..the people, you never run out of things to do, it's amazing..i just want to experience something new I guess. I would love a loft..that's my type of style but they are sooooo expensive. I've been looking for a temporary apt. to move into just to get out of my house and i've seen some not so bad prices..but then the areas arent the greatest. But thats how it is. But i agree...i hate when its cold here..but the summers are so much fun! It's so funny cause i have the radio on and that New York song by jay z is playing

| So why do you want to leave NY? So many people want to be there. Tennessee really is nice - Nashville is great. Green, friendly and always growing. Sarasota, Fla is nice and somehow always safe from the hurricanes. I love the gulf coast of Florida, but if I chose the east coast of Fla., it would be St Augustine - gorgeous, oldest US city. I'd say come to Iowa, one of the best places for business and for families and everyone is so nice - but then again snow will be here in a few months......

| another Minnesotan! It's nice to find other people from Minnesota on a site. I live in the southern metro area but we just moved here 8 months ago from Northern MN. I still miss it but may change my mind when it's -20 up there! |

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | -20 up north won't be far off now, but we had a few mornings at -26* last year with wind chill in the -30's on the south side. Hoping for a warmer winter this year!
