I'm a native Cali girl. Grew up in Orange County.(where Mickey Mouse lives!) I've lived in the Bay Area for 24 years. I LOVE California. Like everyone says...We have everything! ....beaches, deserts, mountains, redwoods, it's beautiful.....HOWEVER....The taxes are the highest in the country. We pay the most for gas and the state is broke! We have to release 40,000 prisoners in the next 2 years because we don't have room. A high percentage of the prisoners are illegal aliens (my DH works for the Sheriffs dept). We have a lot of homeless people because of the nice weather.
It is so expensive here that you can't afford to retire here! So, we will be moving to another state in a couple of years.
