Donating YT 7000 Club Member | ![]() V, there is this line from a show that I adore. The woman's husband died, and she is being asked out by a man and she says "I'm a one-man woman, and I've already had my one man." It really touched me. I don't know if you would be looking for something that straight forward though haha. I know that that must be a difficult question for you to answer. I hope you find the answer you're looking for and it helps you feel better ![]()

| ![]() Hi V, Wish I'd seen this sooner. In my young married days I worked as a watress and when guys would ask me if I was married I got in the habit of holding up my left had, wiggling my fingers and saying "It's the real thing." I think that would work for you since it isn't a lie and I bet you are still wearing your wedding ring aren't you. Hugs |

| ![]() V, when my brother passed, his wife had him cremated and has his ashes in an urn. When people get a little too friendly and start asking question she cuts them off with a, "I've got to run, I left my husband back at the house".

| ![]() Hi V -- just saw your post. Yesterday was a rough day for me (1 year), so your question hits home. We have so much in common -- I also live with my youngest son. I had to check the widow box on a medical form the other day for the first time. I obstinately had continued to mark married for a while, as I will always feel married. I also continue to wear my ring. When asked by a stranger, I recently just replied, "I've been married over 20 years." That is not a lie, so I won't have to have a guilty look when I answer. I wasn't asked as a prelude to anything. I guess you would have to have a couple of different responses, depending on who was asking. But I figure I don't need to add anything more to a first meeting. If you are building a friendship, then there is always time to add more. You are a pretty woman, Villette, so I imagine you are going to get a lot of those kinds of questions. Once you decide on a response, take the ? as a compliment. Megan -- I like the answer from your movie. That is how I feel -- a one-man woman who has already had her one man. I know he was a blessing, but even harder when we lose them too soon.

Donating YT 2000 Club Member | ![]() I guess it would be who is doing the asking....government officials probably have a good reason for asking, lol. I think I would go with the I'm living with someone right now and continue to wear your ring. But on the Yorkie issue, be careful. Tell people they are a mix--especially if they are in a car and you are walking. I have heard of someone's dogs litterally being grabbed and dognapped by an overly friendly stranger in the car. |

![]() ![]() I have no idea what you are going through, nor do I ever wish it on anyone. I do just want to say that I highly respect those who have lost their special someone and are able to keep going and to continue living life positively. (((hugs)))

| ![]() It is October so you get one of the knarly gross teeth thingy's and wear it when you walk the dogs. Just flash them your "beautiful" smile and they will probably sprint away like a rabbit!!! It's worth a try and if nothing else you can laugh out loud.
