| Sleep Number vs Tempurpedic Beds Does anyone here have experience with either one? If so, can you share your opinions on comfort, durability, tell me how long you have had the bed and any repairs or other problems that you have had and what your dealings with customer service has been like? Has the company stood behind their warranty and was the warranty communicated in an above-board manner? These are expensive beds so I want to make sure I have done my research. I have done a lot of looking online but I wanted YTer opinions. We are interested in an adjustable model but would appreciate general feedback on any models. Thanks much!

| We have the adjustable tempurpedic, king size. We have two twin XL mattresses because each side of the bed can be raised and lowered independently of the other. My husband has heart and lung problems and he needs to have the head of the bed up quite a bit to sleep. I didn't necessarily want to have to sleep with my head up that high so we got the split king and split frame. We tried out (in store) the sleep number bed, but liked the tempurpedic the best - it just felt the best to us. But we have an aunt and uncle who prefer the sleep number bed, so I think it is a lot of individual taste. The tempurdedic is wonderful for us as my husband has restless leg syndrome and is a very active sleeper - thus in our old bed his movements really affected my sleep. In the tempurpedic bed, I do not feel him at all. Some people feel the tempurpedic mattress is hot, but we don't seem to find it that way at all - but I know that some do. Turning over in a tempurpedic bed is harder than regular mattresses. There is no bounce to the mattress at all, so when you turn, it is more difficult to shift your body weight. We think the tempurpedic bed is the absolute BEST! We just love the way it feels. We've had it for 5 years and it is in perfect shape. The sides are not sagging in any way, and it feels just like it did when it was new. Also, we really love the adjustable frame - it is so nice. My husband has chronic back problems, so his doctor wrote a prescription for the bed and then we didn't have to pay sales tax on it - which was nice since it is pretty expensive - BUT WELL WORTH THE MONEY! We bought it from an independent dealer near our home and they were wonderful to work with. We did not have any warranty issues, so I can't speak to that. I think both the sleep number and tempurpedic beds are excellent products and that you can't go wrong with either one! Also, if you do a search, you may come up with other threads debating the merits of both.

| We also have a king size tempurpedic bed. We have had it for 4 years with no problems at all. We love it. My DH also has health problems and has restless nights where he moves about all night. With the tempurpedic mattress I feel no movement at all when he tosses and turns. We don't have a problem with the mattress being too hot. I have lower back problems and this mattress has really help my back. You don't have to turn these mattresses over but they do recommend that you rotate them once in a while. The mattress is very heavy so if for some reason you have to move it like to change a bed skirt or rotate you're going to need somebody strong. Luckily I have a grown son that can help.

| We have a sleep number bed in our motorhome and we hate it. It feels like a waterbed but with air. When one person turns over, the other person can feel like a wave of air under them. I wouldn't ever get another one. |

| I don't have either...however, I did just purchase a new mattress set recently and tested both of the two in question. For me, I'd love to have had the Tempurpedic...it was absolutely divine! Alas...the checkbook said, NO! So...I ended up with the "Heavenly" mattress you can find in the *****Hotels and it is very yummy...it's definitely not a Tempurpedic either. Good luck in your choice!

| We have the sleep number an I love it. We can adjust it to what we want too.. I am a 75 ... my husband is 85. We have had it for 2 years now an It has really helped me sleeping. I have a really bad back.. Lots of surgeries an its the only bed that I have really slept good on. We have a king an I dont feel my husband turning over or anything. It the best investment that I ever have done.

| We have a queen tempurpedic. When we first got it I hated it because I was used to sleeping on my stomach and it would suck my hips in too far and make my lower back hurt. I've trained myself to sleep on my side and back now and I really like it. My husband toss and turns all night and I only feel the bed frame wiggle a little but none of the movement transfers through the bed. It is hot we had to sleep with the ceiling fan on in the middle of winter at the old house and now we keep the house at 68 at night because we dont have a fan. It's a wonderful bed though I reccomend it!
