Kim, it is good to see you back. I am so sorry about the job. I, too was laid off in May. Went through a year of unemployment with hubby awhile back. Those excuses seem to be the norm. Sometimes we would even leave off experience, degrees, etc. to try to get a job. They think that if it is below your experience you will leave when another job comes along. The problem is the jobs aren't coming along! It is so frustrating!

You are in our prayers! Hope the job at Vanderbilt works out! Wouldn't that be great!!! The south is a nice place to live, and that is coming from a Northern transplant.

Tough to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Sometimes it helps to take a break from it as it does bring you down. Get some fresh air take some time for yourself. When you least expect something to come about is when it happens! Hugs to you.

the market is just awful everywhere

I feel very bad for all who have lost there jobs and are still looking, Hopefully things will get better all over

we use to have pages of help wanted here and now we have maybe 2...prayers for all ~

I have some good news finally

I got called yesterday for an interview at a college here in NY. I'm hoping that this is the beginning of things turning around!!!

Hallie is great, she has PRA that was diagnosed last year. Her eye sight has been slowly getting worse but she is adjusting. The news was much harder for me than her. She's a tough cookie

Kimberly - welcome back!!!!!! Sending you positive vibes on the Vanderbilt position. My hubby got laid off over two years ago from his HR Director position and has sent out over 1000 resumes all over the country (he also says will pay his own relocation costs). In all that time he has had 6 interviews, but nothing has come to fruitition. He took a position last year as a flight attendant with Mesaba Airlines (a small regional airline under the Northwest/Delta umbrella) so we would at least have health benefits. It is helping to keep our heads above water - but barely as he makes next to nothing!!!!

The upside is we have great travel benefits!!!! And we have really learned what is important in life, though he still needs a real job soon!!!!!
