| Do people just not care about others anymore? I am really convinced that people just don't care about other people anymore. (Keep in mind, I am 7 months pregnant.) I was walking out to the street to get the mail and a big bumble bee got stuck in my sandal. Well, it stung me on the bottom of my foot. At the same time, I tripped over some concrete on the driveway and fell. I caught myself with my hands and of course my hands are cut up and I am bleeding on myself. Not only that, I can't reach my foot to get the stinger out since my belly is so big. So I am laying on my driveway with bloody hands and crying. Okay, get this. FIVE people were outside, staring at me, and nobody offered any help. (And they were nurses who work at the nursing home across the street.) TWO cars drove by and the people stuck their head out the window to look at me and kept going. It just makes me so mad. Well, my 7 year old son came out to try to help me. At least I can count on my little guy. He is putting baking soda on my foot and band aids on me right now. Luckily, I am ok and thankful I didn't fall on my belly.

| That's terrible I feel like people don't care anymore either. Back earlier this year, as I was walking into my community college, a young girl in a wheel chair was stuck in the doorways, and couldn't push her chair through as it was getting stuck in the doorway. I swear that at least 100 people walked by her not doing anything. I finally got up there and asked her if she needed help, and gave her a quick push through. That was all she needed. The human race is a disgrace it seems like.

| I hope your foot is better! Your little man sounds like a gem! I think people have gotten callous about helping others.......they just don't want to get involved and hope that someone else will help, instead.

| That is just horrible, plain and simple. I think people nowadays only care for themselves and don't want to get involved if they see anything. I live in CT and a few years ago an elderly man was hit crossing the street. People saw him lying there and did NOTHING to help him. Cars drove around him . . .it is truly sad and unfortunately this is what the world has become . . .

| Glad you are okay and have raised a fine son who will always come to your aid. Shame on those others who just watched when you needed a hand. Some people are just apathetic anymore, not wanting to get involved. They need to realize this is not a reality TV show -- this is life -- care about people!

| How very sad. I am happy your little guy was able to help you and that you are okay. I have to agree that many just don't want to involve themselves and that is way I make it a point to try to help out others as I would want them to help me if I was in need. I live in a retirement area (Palm Springs) and I have seen things from people not holding doors open for people that can't even open them to people watching as a elderly woman fell on the floor and bumped her head.

| I am lucky to have awesome neighbors - the ones I know at least. We aren't all super close friends, but we never hesitate to call each other to check if someone left their garage door open or to let a dog out. I think because we live in townhouses we MUST get along or we would all be pretty miserable! But I so agree with you. I admit I get frustrated with people really easily (like co-workers asking for the 100th time how to use the fax machine) but when it comes to something like this, you just help!!!! |

| John Stossel had run some specials, and they might still be on, and I think it was called "What would you do?" There were all these situations, much like yours, where someone could have used help with something, or someone to stick up for them, and they wanted to see how many people would help others or say something. It was quite surprising and disappointing to see how many people wouldn't even say something when a woman was on a date and while she was in the restroom, her date drugged her wine! I get so upset with the human race at times, then you get those few people that give you a glimmer of hope. I help anyone that I see needs help. My husband and I even pull over for people if we see they need help with something.

| I am so so so so sorry that this happened to you. It is such a same the way people treat each other. They should have helped you regardless of whether or not you were pregnant, but considering your condition they should have been racing over to your aid. This makes me so sad. But I am glad that you and baby are doing fine and that you have raised such a sweet little boy.

| Man I would have said something to those useless nurses after I was helped and fixed up I would have march right over to the useless nurses and asked why you would watch a pregnant woman fall and not help, I guess they are in the wrong business. I’m sure glad you are okay and thx to your precious 7 old son for helping you.

| omg how sad... I was at Walmart the other day and a older lady was pushing her cart, she was going down at a slant and the buggy picked up speed and she was kind of running behind it and it got to fast, she lost control and fell to her knees and hands. Poor lady I wasnt that close to her but I heard her screams and ran to help her. I was further away from her but I made it to her first... she was saying help me but she was already out of breath...my heart broke. I helped her up and she was scratched up so bad her arms and hands were bleeding. She didnt want to file a report so I helped her to her car and my husband loaded her groceries for her. Another lady showed up and was helping her too. She only wanted her coke and her keys and she sat in her car a little while we watched her until she left. It broke my heart she said she didn't have anyone to go anywhere with her and she just couldn't sit in the house anymore. But we were in public and you were in your own neighborhood which is worse. If I lived there and saw you I would have helped you... sorry you had to go through that. But most of all Im glad you didnt hurt yourself worse or landed on your belly. Glad your little boy was there to help.

| Oh I am so sorry your neighbors, and the people that drove by did not stop to help you. I do not know what is going on with people these days. Sounds like you have a wonderful little boy. I am glad he was there to help you since no one else seemed to help. What a shame. So happy you did not get hurt worse than you did, and the baby is alright.
