Took these pictures this evening. This guy is hanging out by our garage door. Yes, that is a normal brick and yes its the size of that brick!

That sure looks like a wolf spider to me! We have them all over in NW Florida. Way to many for my liking. They can get huge and they jump! We also have pine spiders which I sometimes have a hard time telling from a wolf spider.

Those are both harmless spiders but we have also had several black widows in our garage. My mom keeps getting them in her mailbox. She said one more and she is putting up a new box. Hers is in brick. My DH was bitten by a brown recluse here too -- that was a horrid ordeal! Left a gaping hole and he was sick for a very long time. So any spider at all creeps me out. I would rather squish first and then worry about what kind. We have too many bad boys here.

I'm with you We both must love to garden as spiders are good and I also like snakes
But I'm not going to touch them I'm not that nuts!!

I can think of a name...."Dead Spider"! LOL! OMG that is about the ugliest thing I've ever seen! And they get bigger? Geez, I'd be moving out of IL in a heartbeat. There is no FREAKIN' way I would live in that State! Can you tell I'm a big sissy when it comes to Spiders? Rats, Mice, Snakes...no problem. But give me a spider and I run in the the other direction. Chattiesmom...since your a bit fond of spiders, please make sure nothing like that piggybacks into my box of new harnesses! LOL!

This spider is still alive! He's killing all kinds of bugs for us! Hopefully June bugs and roaches... do spiders eat roaches?

Sadly we coincidentally are scheduled for Terminix to spray Thursday, so he may not live through that

UGH! omg..I really hate them...they make me shiver just thinking about them...we don't get really huge ones over here...although i have seen the odd abnormally large house spider occasionally.

Hi all, this is Kenny, Debra's hubby...Great topic ! Yeh it looks like a Wolf Spider to me as well, although my interest is in Tarantulas. Glad to see Chattiesmom and Cheryl like spiders as well, spiders are misunderstood lol. Just thought I would post a quick pick of some of my collection, around 60 Tarantulas, beside our computer

Yikes!!! I guess as long as the spider is contained I'm fine... However, they were all running loose that's totally a different story. Back in High School I held a tarantula in my hand and that was really scary.
