Ugh, that is disgusting looking. DH just killed a brown recluse yesterday that was hanging out by our front door. Eek! I would much rather deal with a spider than a snake or cockroach anyday!!!

I live in Illinois, and I have never, in my 52 years, seen a spider here that looked like that...thank God!

There is a link to ask and attach pictures. It would be interesting to find out what kind of spider in Illinois is as big as a brick! lol.

I've been researching it more and from what I can find it looks to be a relative of the wolf spider... its in the fishing spider family. I'll post it to see what people have to say on that site.

I may have seen one like that in south texas but I'm not sure. Interesting on that 2nd pic it looks like it has an EVIL FACE staring out from it's back!
