Took these pictures this evening. This guy is hanging out by our garage door. Yes, that is a normal brick and yes its the size of that brick!

That sure looks like a wolf spider to me! We have them all over in NW Florida. Way to many for my liking. They can get huge and they jump! We also have pine spiders which I sometimes have a hard time telling from a wolf spider.

Those are both harmless spiders but we have also had several black widows in our garage. My mom keeps getting them in her mailbox. She said one more and she is putting up a new box. Hers is in brick. My DH was bitten by a brown recluse here too -- that was a horrid ordeal! Left a gaping hole and he was sick for a very long time. So any spider at all creeps me out. I would rather squish first and then worry about what kind. We have too many bad boys here.
