I am, but for a different reason. I'm in Orange county, CA now, but grew up and went to school in suburbs 40 mins from downtown LA, I won't say what city maybe I might offend someone? The kids there are known for being big time spoiled brats (as are most of the kids in OC now as well). Brand new BMWs for 16th bday that kind of thing. (and crashing them for racing too) But my family was always on the lower middle class side. My dad worked 2 full time jobs, and my mom worked full time as well. My grandparents worked until in their 70s (even though they were highly respected upper class citizens in their home country) as waiter and seamstress. I don't like saying what high school or college I went to. Maybe it was just my year? I don't know, but most my friends feel the same way. Around here it seems you just say that city and people think "brat". i don't really like that. |
I feel kinda dumb now, posting what I did once I read everyone else's posts. That's a better reason than mine. : ( |

capt noonie: Don't think that, I think you have a good reason. I know there are some areas and schools that I thought that about, it sucks but it's true. There was one girls private school that I couldn't stand because every girl I met from there was stuck up and of course they did have money, I ended up moving across the street from one when I hit high school and I couldn't stand her because she was always mean and snobby. I do now know everyone isn't like that, it took me getting older to realize it but at least i finally realized it!! So your feelings are not off base here. I wanted to hear all stories not just stories like mine!! So thanks for sharing!! |
When I think of Cincinnati, first thing comes to mind WKRP IN CINCINNATI. Loved that show. Be Proud of where you are from. We have other issues in Texas.... |

Never ashamed of where I'm from or where I've lived, but I have usually had to say a nearby big city to have anyone know where I was talking about. Seems we have always lived in small cities no one has ever heard of. Even now, I usually just say I live in NW Florida. I love being on the Gulf Coast! |
Although i miss the best pizza ever (Chicago) plus all of the other good Italion food I still love my old Kentucky home Betty & Micah my love:aimeeyork |

Im not from Tx but I try to find things I most like about a state, I love TX MEX FOOD, YUM. The Texas Long Horn Cattle are so unique. You should see the young ones when they are first growing those horn. I am a Redskin fan so that does not do me anygood in the middle of Cowboy Country. Although I have seen real cowboys wearing chaps. Thats kind of cool. |
I was born in Cincinnati and I've lived most of my life here, but I have also lived in three other states. I couldn't wait when I was young to get out and live other places, after living other places it did give me a better appreciation of home. Cincinnati is far from perfect, but all cities have problems. So I think it's hard to escape all the issues. My main reason for wanting to live somewhere else is, I would love to live somewhere that has a view of mountains and water! :) |
