Let me know if you read any of the other books, I'm a book worm and I love to talk about books! Yes, that's a pretty wild ride. I read that a few years ago and it's still stuck with me.

My hubby eats meat and always will and that's fine. He does eat a lot less now which has shocked me to no end because he was a real meat and potatoes man too.

| I'm not sure that people are saying the recipes in the cookbook are bad. They just say it wasn't worth the money because it is mostly about tofu.

| I have Skinny Bitch in the Kitch, which I assume is the cookbook you are talking about...I was really excited about it, but honestly it basically gives you typical recipes and says use the vegan (soy) cheese, soy milk, etc. I guess I was looking for recipes that just didn't have any type of dairy or meat in it so you didn't need the "fake" kind. I am a hard one to please though.

| I think I am on page 75 of this book and literally threw up in my mouth a few times! (ok not literally) I hate it. The writing is fun and funny but the realities are a bit much for me to bear. I was almost crying.

| I've looked into it too. I wont be reading it. After someone here mentioned it, I went on Amazon.com and looked at the reviews. This one sums up exactly why I wont read it: "They also say that you shouldn't eat processed foods, which I totally agree with, but then go on to advocate for veggie/vegan products that taste like meat which are incredibly processed but according to them are still good because they are vegan." I'm pretty into eating healthy and all-natural (not vegetarian though) and this fact about their advice bothers me. I also have no interest whatsoever in giving up meat, and have read and watched plenty about the meat industry, so I don't need another lecture about it.

| I like Tne Hungry Girl too. She's not a trained nutritionist she just likes to eat. I, for one, do not like diet sugar, fake cheese, etc. I'd rather not have cheese or butter if I have to have fake. BUT, her S'mores Oatmeal is to die for. i crave it. She also has a chocolate muffin recipe that is made from two ingredients. A lot of her stuff is really easy to make and you can substitute some things if you really dont like stuff like Splenda.

| I haven't read this book but I saw that movie "Supersize Me" on satellite last October and it really inspired me to eat better. Lost 14 lbs. since then, weigh far less than my target weight, cholesterol and BP now normal and my doctor told me to GAIN weight last month! That movie really makes you think about what food can do to your health in only a short time after eating. I still eat my Whataburger FF Meal once, twice a month and am no special eater such as Adkins, vegan or anything radical like eating only sprouts and tofu for all meals, I just eat smart the rest of the time - smaller portions and little snacking. And I feel so much better - lots more energy and can even think faster. You never know what simple thing is one day going to inspire you to healthy eating, which is probably the best long term plan.
