I'm so MAD!!!!!! I opened a new bank account so that I could have money for misc things such as kelly's birthday and my car performance parts. Anyway....I receive my ATM card in the mail yesterday but had not received my PIN. They send them seperately for security reasons. They told me that if I received my card before my PIN then I could go in and they could assign me a PIN so that I would be able to use my card. So I went in at 10 this morning to get a PIN assigned so I could activate my card. They said they changed the PIN to my desired combination and that it would take about 30 minutes tops to enter the system. I then leave the bank and go about my daily erronds and this evening around 7 I swing by an ATM to activate my card. I put the card in enter my NEW PIN number cause I never received the old one and it comes up INVALID!!!!!!! WTF I am so mad that some moron didn't put it in the system. That is my money they are holding and I do not have access to it. They are getting a phone call from me in the morning and I will probably be more upset than I am now. I am the type of person that if something goes wrong I dwell on it until it is resolved. They are not going to like me in the morning....but I feel I have every right to be upset. Am I wrong???? Also is there anything I can do for reperation???? I feel that they owe me something. At least a free sucker. Thanks for listening to me rant.

Nope, you expect service when you a company is supposed to be providing it for you. Customer service everywhere has gone downhill everywhere lately, it just isn't right. Write a letter to the CEO or bank manager and tell them how disappointed you are with their service, and that perhaps your hard-earned money is better off at another bank...

I had the exact same thing happen to me 2 weeks ago. Just a note.... if it is both a debit and credit card you can use it as credit card to spend money without the Pin.......LOL

HMMMM I guess I said it wrong.... You can call the 800 number and have them activate the card. The card will be activated but not for DEBIT use. Also alot of banks will let you go into the local branch and show ID and they can make your pin RIGHT THEN AND THERE in their records. They will tell you on the PHONE you can't.... but you CAN in the BANK.

| Banks are always tick me off. Mine is always charging me fees that they shouldnt be. I call them and they correct them but if I hadnt paid close attention they would have just kept the money- and they have done this several times. They are also screwy with the way that they post transactions. Plus my "Free Checking" cost me $8 a month . When I am in a bad mood I just call my bank and gripe them out for some $2 fee or ask them again why my free checking cost money. Its a great way to release anger on someone who deserves it lol

I work at a bank and with our ATM cards when you set up the account we give you the choice of choosing your pin number or we can have one sent to you... And in order to activate the card there is usually a 1-800 number on it. then you have to call it from your home phone to activate it.. I dont know how other banks work but that is how ours does.

We have a free checking, the only thing you would have to pay for is Checks. And now days here every just uses their check card and doesnt order and checks. Now there is fees if you over draw the account but that is the only way you get charged. You could leave only a penny in it and not get charged. We have free buisness accounts too!!
