| I Love Thor Donating Member | I think that it is important that, as adults, we act mature enough to understand that it is okay for everyone to vioce their own personal opinion, and we should all be able to do this with having others make personal 'attacks' against us. It is fine to disagree, but I think there should be a little more maturity...unless I am taking some comments in completely the wrong way. I know that politics can quickly become a heated argument, or discusion, but maybe if it can't be handled amoung us then we should agree to disagree. ...and stick to talking YORKIES! (we all seem to agree on them!)And just so everyone knows, I wasn't trying to offend anyone, and I have no hard feelings I hope everyone has a pleasant afternoon! Hannah |

				   | I found this article written by a former state legislater (I am assuming he knows what he is talking about since he has worked within the govt) for help in understanding the steps in a disaster. Didn't research if Dem or Rep. http://www.opinionjournal.com/extra/?id=110007219 Here is a link to a plan for Hurricane Evacuation http://www.neworleans.com/index.php?...d=13&Itemid=43 I don't think this is the one he is referencing in the above article but haven't researched it yet.

				   | I feel that the governors in the states affected by this should have been on the phone asking for help to be brought closer to their areas. The help could have been placed on standby so when this storm hit help would have been there. They knew the storm was going to hit in the area from La. to Al., I know they didn't know the exact location, but help could have been closer. I feel we need to concentrate on help these people get their lives back and not finger pointing. There's time for that in the future. |

Well said I couldn't agree more. My husband just told me a little while ago that the Red Cross had over 100,000 boxes of supplies with personal hygeine, food, water and different other necessities ready to go 24 hrs after Katrina and the government of LA stop them and told them not to come yet. It's absurd to think that LA is blaming the fed gov when the state gov needs some blame as well if this is true.
