You can do that with most anything, so I don't see why not. As far as quality goes, it might be better to rip the audio out of a um, better digital cap of the video that's floating around on the 'net. But if quality doesn't matter, sure, why not try doing that with the iTunes vid? LOL. I'm just surprised there aren't any locks/protection on the files, at least not with the audio downloads, so they're easily shareable with friends, family, other playback devices you may own, etc. without having to "fiddle" with it. I don't know if that was the intention but it makes me more willing to pay the 99 cents a pop for their music rather than just to look to download it for free from places.

I downloaded the iTunes, and the quality is excellent on a 19 inch full screen, but I have to play it through iTunes and not the media center.

I'm not sure if you can separate them, but the video and song play fine on my iPod.

I do'nt think Scott was in the running because of pity votes. He is a fantastic piano player and singer and I totally agree with one of the judges (Simon?) likening him to Billy Joel. That being said, his vocals weren't up to par with Adam, Allison, Kris, and Danny. I'm still rooting for Anoop though, although I can see how people would think he acts a little snobby.

Well, American Idol is a singing competiton, not a piano playing competition, so I think it is good he left. You're right, He is an amazing piano player, which probably made him stay around as long as he did.

I think Anoop or Lil Rounds will be the next to go. I do not see them lasting too long in this competition if they do not have a hot performance. Lately, I have been able to predict who was going home. Adam and Allison are my favorites.

If Lil Rounds doesn't improve next week, then I think she REALLY needs to go. At this point, I'm at complete lost as to what type of album she would come out with. The other remaining contestant on the show all have their little nitch in music style/type (i.e., rock, pop, R&B, etc.). But as for Lil, she's all over the place.

As of now, my favs are Adam, Allison, and Danny (in that order).

Yeah, I agree with you, I had high hopes for her early in the competition, and think she's a wonderful singer, but she seems to be trying to give us what she thinks America will like instead of who she really is. I still think she's amazing, but just hasn't found what makes her truly unique as an artist.

Anyone else read this about Simon? Simon Cowell to Leave 'American Idol'?

Looks like his contract will soon be up - I just highly doubt his ego would let him leave - make sure to look at the vote counts though - do you all think he is important to the show? Would you still watch AI if he was gone?

I think it would totally change the show, esp if paula left too. I don't think it would be as good because Simon is a huge influence on much of the show

American Idol is built around Simon. His blunt and accurate comments makes people want to watch the show since the first season. I would probably still watch the show if Simon left, because I like to watch talent shows. I think the ratings would go down. I think many people like Simon, but the audience just love to boo his comments. You gotta love Simon. Well, I do. I like Paula too.

I would hate to see Simon Cowell leave the show. His bluntness is quite refreshing (sometimes), he says it like it is and doesn't sugar coat it. He's the complete opposite of Paula. Although I did notice that this season Paula has gotten a little more tough with her critiques.
