Maybe we can all post who wants to order and let Admin. get a price, all of us pre pay so the companey would be paid up front. I really want to get some of the cookbooks. One member here has one copy she is sending me out of the goodness of her heart ( due to very special reciepe ) and she loves her cook book. I would like to order her one and two more. Angie |
I sure hope you can get those cookbooks, Denise, but I fear she will do to you as she did to Sandy and just delete the message. It is unbelievable that a long time, well known YT'er could do the things she has. If she had no intentions of donating the profits to YT, she should never have said she was. There are some people that figure the world owes them a living and I think Missy is one of those people. Shame on her! To me, it's kind of like we've all been slapped in the face. |
I don't know if there's anything that can be done about her taking the money, but I feel taken advantage of. I bought two cookbooks, one for myself and one for my mom. I only bought them thinking the proceeds were going to YorkieTalk. If it weren't for that fact, I wouldn't have paid almost $50 for these two books including shipping to Canada. I'm glad I got them, and I've made some delicious recipes, but it was absolutely wrong to lead so many people to believe they were buying the book as a donation to the site. I have also been scammed by another member here too... I didn't exactly PAY for anything, but I wanted bows made and she asked me to just buy ribbon and jewels and everything and ship it to her (for $11 shipping!) and she would make them. A year later and I haven't heard a thing back, except that she started a new job and didn't have time yet. It really goes to show that no matter how well you think you know someone or how long they have been around, this is still just the internet and it's hard to really trust anyone. |

I disagree with you-Missy did not own the cookbooks solely-yorkietalkers as a whole did, there were others that worked just as hard, and donated their time & most importantly the recipes, with the acknowledgement that the proceeds would go to yt! The donations were done for Yorkietalkers, the website and for the benefit of all our furbabies. |

I really don't think "witch hunt" is correct. These are all just facts that everyone is reporting! |

It was this thread that brought the truth forward. Sandy did a great job explaining without going full-out on Missy weeks ago. I'm still sorry when I asked Sandy how she could walk away that it hurt her feelings -- but that question did bring this out into the know. I believe the cookbooks are the intellectual property of all who contributed a recipe - and I am among those contributors. Also, I paid that kind of money for a book, and extras for gifts because that money was to go to YT. How appalling is it that my hard earned money is lining Missy's pockets. I pray that the books are turned over to YT. Right now I believe she is in the possession of stolen merchandise. |
bottom line-- dont take whats not yours!!!!!!! |
I would like to buy one if more were to be made! |
wow I have no words I am in shock! I will say I love my cookbook and use it all the time! |
I am so sad to read this about Missy! I would never have thought her to be this type of person. :( Tammy |
If anyone has any doubt about the YT Cookbook being a fundraiser for YT, then check the two threads below. There are others, but in the first one, Missy herself refers to the Cookbook as a fundraiser. This is a direct quote from Missy in post #1 of the first link below: I have 3 1/2 boxes of YT cook Books left. This is a YT fundraiser, so every CB ordered helps keep your favorite site running! http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/gen...yours-yet.html http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/off...ur-recipe.html As far as shipping goes, I did a bit of research. The book weighs 1 lb. 3.4 ounces (on my digital postal scale). The book fits PERFECTLY into a USPS flatrate envelope at a cost of $4.80 anywhere in the USA - which includes delivery confirmation. At least four will fit into a regular flat rate box at $9.85 and even more will fit in a large flat rate box for $12.95. The media mail rate is considerably cheaper. I will leave it to everyone to recheck my figures and read the posts started by Missy and come to their own conclusions. |

I hate that there have been people taken advantage of here on this board. I hate to see it everytime it happens, regardless to if it were me, or someone else. That is something I feel very strongly towards that extends off of YT. It's just wrong! :( |

I remember buying a cookbook knowing that, while I'm not a donating member I can still support YT. I feel a little taken advantage of, but can move on and be A LOT more careful when it comes to buying things from people on line. I don't know this Missy but I sincerely hope she does what is right, whatever that may be, and get her moral compass fixed. |
