| Luvs Lulu Donating Member | Oy....figured something like that was going to sneak up. You just have to love all those administrative charges. Sorry you have to pay so much. You can make the money but setting Buddy up with a sled and have him offer rides to the neighborhood kids. We know he is strong as an ox.

| I WAS a cop. I know from inside that there are good ones, bad ones, inexperienced ones, etc. Police Officers are only people trained to do a job. Like all of the rest of us mortals, they are subject to make mistakes. If and when we feel like a police officer has made an error we have the right to (and should) take the matter to court. I fully understand that their job is full of risks - every single time they stop someone they put their lives in danger. That is where discretion comes into play. Police officers are taught to rely on instincts and somehow following a mature woman into a service station where she is filling her car up with gasoline isn't a situation that would normally put him in a life threatening situation. |

Unless you are paid a lot more than I am, a few hours sitting on a courtroom bench would be well worth it. I would definately video tape the area, read up on state statutes, go well prepared. YOU CAN DO IT!!!

| OMG Cindy you were a police officer? Wish is we're you who stopped me. I deserved to be pulled over, I now know that, dumb as it sounds but I feel so bad I didn't get a warning. I really do. Oh well that's life I guess. I certainly won't ever make that mistake again. I also thought by pleading guilty they would be lienent on me. Wrong again. It stinks that NYS has to get their share too. NYS has their hands in every aspect of you life for $. Live and learn and believe me I have learned. He told me to "Pay Attention". I wanted to say, officer I do pay attention which is why for 36yrs I have never been stopped, ticketed or had an accident but kept my mouth shut! Now I wish I at least stuck up for myself instead of being a complete boob! He was probably mad because he didn't get a rise out of me. |

| In Illinois we are offered driving school if we get a ticket That way the ticket doesn't go against your record. It costs just as much but I went after getting a ticket for speeding in my little red sports car. I was doing 84 mph in a 65 mpr zone so my Insurance company wouldn't have appreciated that very much. I did learn my lesson though. |

I do take the defencesive driving course every three years. It was just a stupid mistake on my part and a not so understanding young cop didn't care about the years of safe driving I had behind me. I gotta let it go. Life at times is not fair. So be it.
