I made my little girl one for Christmas. It was either 1 3/4 yds or 2 yds? I can't remember now. It took about 2 hours to make, and that was start to finish. The one I made the other night for Maximus only took about an hour. I got 1 yd each of two coordinating fleeces which will make two blankets for him, I only got the one made so far. I made a smaller one for him so he could tote it around and adjust it the way he wanted it. The only thing I don't like about making them is when buying your own coordinating fleece, cutting the salvage off and then evening the two separate fleeces together. It's an anxiety thing. lol I've never had a problem once I start, it's the anticipation of starting it and feeling like I'm going to mess it up. |

I could only find the pink and white one and the left over red plaid material that I had made a blanket from, but I think that blanket was left somewhere. Rats, now I'll be thinking about that thing all night hehe! The red and the blue are the two I'm going to make blankets with as soon as I find the grey fleece for backing. It has to be the same weight. These will be put away for next Christmas to give to who knows who. :p |
Aww, thanks. My corner squares were about 4" x 4" on the smaller blankets. Then about 4" strips every 1" or so. I don't measure mine, although I hate to admit it was because I was too lazy. ;) . |

I just made them for my babies. I just tied up three ends and left one end open. Trixie was very warm for her car ride to the vet for shots. She felt safe and secure all tucked inside it. It was easier for me to handle her too. I did not have to do the juggle act when it came time to pay. I knew she wouldn't fall out the bottom. I don't like to put my babies down anywhere. Especially the vet. (fleas and stuff) I feel safer if I hold them. :aimeeyorkCOCO :aimeeyorkPEBBLES :aimeeyorkTRIXIE I went to Wal-mart and they had solids on clearance for 2.99 yd. So I got hot pink and baby pink and just doubled it up. Now it's reversable. I only wish I would have thought of this when my kids were little. It's hard to hold them and make sure the blanket is covering their feet. With this they are all snug. |
