I've always been interested in the rotary cutting tools, I use to watch the quilting program, and these are a must for quilting. Let us know how they work, with anything there's always that learning curve, but once you learn how to use something, it's much easier.

I would like to know this as well. I hate to start a project and not finish it as I have done many times. I still have finished cross stitch from years ago that I never did anything with.

The measuring is nothing, you just make sure you're 5 or 6 inches into the blanket then cut, you go all the way around all the edges and cut into it 5 or 6 inches about 1 inch apart. You also cut out a square from each corner that is either 5 x 5 or 6 x 6. Tying the fringe is a BEEP, I thought they were going to be very simple and thought with how simple "I THOUGHT" they were going to be that I could sell them and make a good profit. NO WAY JOSE. I couldn't even get through one side of the blanket and my fingers were already cramping and sore as all get out. I made a bigger one for my boyfriend's step mom and then I made a smaller one for Lilly. MAJOR PAIN. You may be fine with it though, everyone's different!

Oh and they will take some time at first, my boyfriend helped me cut and tie the fringes on the one we made for his step mom and it took us a few hours to finish.

The rotary tool I have is very sharp and will cut through several layers of cotton fabric at one time. It came with several different blades.

Also, good luck with using the rotary cutter with these. I tried using mine to do it but since fleece is sooo thick and sturdy, it ended up messing up my blade (dulled it out REALLY bad - had to buy a new blade) and it took forever to cut with it, scissors were much faster. However, it may be different for you all. Good luck!!!!

I think if you're making a small one, you'll be fine... the larger blankets will take you a few days to make most likely - depends on how much time you have to dedicate to it. Your fingers will get sore fast though but I wish you the best of luck, I think you could do it!

we'll i bought some sharp scissors as well. I wanted to see which one I liked best. But I think I am going to start with the 4X4 size cuts. Since this is a little smaller. :p

I thought this would be the case when I saw where you cut the small slits with a seam ripper and pull the fringe through. Cutting the slit with a seam ripper in fleece sounds hard.

I thought this would be the case. Fleece is pretty easy to cut with a good pair of scissors.

yea, i am not sure if I am going to do that one. I think I am going to stick with the double sided one. that one might work if it is a really small blanket. :D

The rotary cutting tool is awesome!!!! Scissors time consuming.... I have even put batting in between fleece pieces done some stitching around it, and made a dog bed. Have fun!!!!!!

For me it was plant holders and wall hangings! :D You probably have seen the big owl sitting on the drift wood? Lol, I loved that at the time.
