The kits I saw were in the store last year, and the fabrics selection was really limited, it looks like they have a great deal of more fabrics this year, and I just love the monkey fabric, too cute!

Too bad we can't have an old fashion quilting party!

I have also purchased the fleece throws that have been in the $1.00 section at Target or from other YT members...I get two of them and since they are already cut on two sides, makes the cutting time go much faster...I haven't had a chance to make them yet, but will post pics once I do get them finished...

I'm just west of Charlotte and the fabric store I was referring to is Mary Jo's plus I think she has a web site. I'll check it out and let you know.

I'm a hugeee craft person, it's what I do in my free time which is pretty much all of my time, LOL. I HATE making these blankets though. I, personally, feel like I come out better if I just pay someone reasonably for one. They're such a pain in the you know what.

Lol, you brought me down to earth, could you tell us why you don't like doing them, is it measuring and cutting the fringe, and/or just tying them that you hate? The tying part looks like fun. :D But I always think that about something, and then can't wait to get it over with.

I actually bought a Rotary Cutting Mat. Have you heard of this? And I bought a rotary tool. I think this will make it pretty easy to cut and measure. The rotary tool is hard plastic and has inch lines on it. You lay your fabric on it and just use the rotary tool to cut. I hope it is as easy as it sounds...hehe... :thumbup:

These are fun, you do not have to be exact just have fun!!!!!!!!hehehehehe.:D I have made tons of them even made my son one nnd sent it to Iraq. It was red white and blue. It was large it fit his bunk/sleeping bag.

Love it!!! If these turn out good I have already decided I am going to make them for family as well. I guess we all have our calling. :teeth: Do you have any tips? Did you use any of the tools I mentioned or did you just use scissors.

I want to make one for Bailey to use on the sofa and it won't take a very large one for that. Now I'm wondering if he'll chew on the ties.:) I also have the rotary tool that I used years ago when cutting out quilt squares and they're pretty handy.
