No sew blankets -exciting I have seen alot about these NO SEW blankets and they are really cute. I have found some websites where their seem to be one sided and double sided. I am headed out now to get some supplies and make my baby one. :p No Sew Fleece Blanket Instructions - Making Fleece Tie Blanket http://www.ebhs.org/Files/NoSewFB.pdf |
Thanks for posting this, after seeing the one pictured in Bchgirls thread, http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/my-...-portrait.html, I'm really interested in them too, I thought you had to buy the kits, and I didn't realize you could make them out of your own material. I hope you let us know how your doing on the project, and if you have any tips. |
oh wow I am going to make one too for Mimi! Thanks for your posting! Pink and leopard fleece.:p |
Cute:D I think I might give it a go too! Thanks OP! |
Oh, this is a great link and thank you for starting this thread. I found several different sites that I've saved but this one is much better. We have a great fabric store (local) with really good prices and I hope to start on mine this week. I think they're adorable and they would also make great gifts. |
They are really easy to make. The big blankets take awhile though and require a large floor to lay it out on. The good thing about making these kind of blanket is that they don't have to be "perfect" to still look good. There is almost no way you can make a mistake on this. |

We'll I can't find a fabric store in the area. :( I was able to get a Rotarty Cutting board it looks like it will help with measuring the fringes and I got a rotarty cutting tool. Now I just need my fabric. Guess I will have to keep looking. :p |

They really are fun to make! You can make them ANY size you want! |
I've made a lot of these and in fact just bought more fleece to make two more. They are fun and soooo easy to make. Just don't tie too tight or they won't lay right. ;) |

Do you have some pics of the one's you have made? :p |
HI Everyone, I found some NO Sew Fleece throws on Joann.com. They come in 48' and 72'. They also come with whatever print you want and one matching solid. They are on sale right now for $9.99. It says regulary $19.99. I am not sure if I am allowed to post link. I bought 3 prints I can't wait until they arrive. They have a couple different monkey prints for those who love monkeys. :p |

Too bad we can't have an old fashion quilting party! |
I have also purchased the fleece throws that have been in the $1.00 section at Target or from other YT members...I get two of them and since they are already cut on two sides, makes the cutting time go much faster...I haven't had a chance to make them yet, but will post pics once I do get them finished... |

I'm a hugeee craft person, it's what I do in my free time which is pretty much all of my time, LOL. I HATE making these blankets though. I, personally, feel like I come out better if I just pay someone reasonably for one. They're such a pain in the you know what. |

Lol, you brought me down to earth, could you tell us why you don't like doing them, is it measuring and cutting the fringe, and/or just tying them that you hate? The tying part looks like fun. :D But I always think that about something, and then can't wait to get it over with. |
I am still excited about it. I think it would be fun. |

Love it!!! If these turn out good I have already decided I am going to make them for family as well. I guess we all have our calling. :teeth: Do you have any tips? Did you use any of the tools I mentioned or did you just use scissors. |
I want to make one for Bailey to use on the sofa and it won't take a very large one for that. Now I'm wondering if he'll chew on the ties.:) I also have the rotary tool that I used years ago when cutting out quilt squares and they're pretty handy. |
