| Unfortunately it worked for my Husband while he was on it, started smoking again after he went off of it twice. First time on it 3 months, second time he was on it 5 months. My insurance didn't cover it and it cost 125.00 a month. He was on it 8 months total. Sorry I wish I could have given a more positve view. |

| Congratulations on deciding to quit! If you take the Chantix, please be very careful. There are some very bad side effects... one being suicidal ideation and actual suicide. I haven't heard any wonderful stories from people... seems like they start up again. I wish you the best! |

| My boyfriend has just started taking it again. He was taking it about a month ago, and he said that he was helping and that after awhile the ciggerettes started tasting like dirt. I guess you are still supposed to smoke for the first week or two while you are on it, but our friend was taking it also, and he said that he had to stop because he was having weird dreams. I think there are pro's and con's of it.

| My husband smoked two packs a day or more and he used it. Hasn't had a smoke in almost 2 years now. Dr. wouldn't operate on his back unless he quit smoking...so he did. I tried it, but it made me very sick to my stomach. I had four patches (the cheapest ones at Wal Mart) leftover from when I tried to quit before and put one on before I went to bed. Haven't smoked since August 30/31 2007. Good luck to you no matter how you go about it...you won't regret it....that's a promise.

| I used it before and wasnt successful quiting but I got another prescription and I am trying again now. You still have to be motivated to quit. It doesnt get rid of the habit part of smoking but does get rid of the nicotine withdrawl. The only side effects that I had while taking it was nauseas for the first week. Good luck you can do it and I can too it just takes willpower

| I'm not a smoker, nor have I ever been, but I am a pharmacist and here's the average responses I've heard from patient's. 1. It works!!! (The most common feedback) 2. I had horrible dreams and had to stop using it. 3. It makes me really nauseated. 4. It made me cut down on how much I was smoking, but I couldn't completely stop. I had my sister use it because I think most of the side effect are from the nicotine withdrawal (that you're not supposed to have) rather than from the med. I also think the many benefits from stopping smoking outweighed any potential side effects. Anything that gets people to quit is awesome in my book!

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | There are 2 people at my new job who used it, who started Jan 1 08--both were able to stop smoking. Both of them said it caused them to have weird dreams, and one gained 50lbs, but they are happy they stopped smoking.....They also mentioned the cost, but said it was still cheaper than smoking. |
