| Another Clothing Question !!! Can you wear a silk scarf with a pattern on it with an outfit that has a pattern too? I have a set I bought for a holiday party in 2 weeks, it is burgundy with a very small black pattern on it. The top is low cut, with a matching jacket over it. I have now a "turkey neck", so I want to try to wear scarves now to cover it up. Would I need a solid scarf or would a complementary pattern go ok? This Dress below is almost these same color/pattern combo as my tops I'm talking about. What do you think as far as a scarf?? (if any?!) |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | So tough to say without seeing it, but a lot of dual-patterns are being shown now - and I think it can look great if they're complimentary! Or, you couldn't go wrong with a little black scarf too.

Just make sure they don't look too similar so it doesn't look like you tried to make them matchy-matchy.

| Cute dress! I'd wear a long black scarf or maybe even a choker.

| I'd go with a black scarf also, but I did read in this months cosmo that multiple patterns are cool as long as they are in the same color scheme. oh. and I LOVE the dress! |

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | True, but depending on the occasion. If the dress you'll be wearing is similar in style, to the one pictured, it will look better with a black scarf.Different prints are in style, as long as they complement each other, BUT, be careful, if what you are trying to do is camouflage something, having different prints will only make it more noticeable, I'll say go with black.

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | Sorry, I just went back and read your post again, if you are wearing a jacket, then no scarf, scarf will be instead of the jacket, you can wear a choker, make sure it's not to tight, otherwise, what you try to hide will show even more.

| Ok. I bought a black scarf. Now I'll go to a website someone else on here sent me and follow the instructions on there how to tie it. If it doesn't look good, it's ok.. I did not spend much on it. Or I'll just wear my short Pearls and be proud of my slightly wrinkly "turkey neck!"... Thanks you guys. PS: yes, that dress IS pretty!! my jacket & top look similar. the top has a drapey low neckline. |
