| Hello...just checking in on you You have been on my mind all day.....I have a Matthew...he is my oldest....and believe me....being divorced when he was 2.5 years old, I worried about him a lot. He went to live with his Dad at 14, after his Dad planted the "famous seed" that he could come when he could make the decision for himself.....Oh, believe me...this crap that some"Dad's" think they can pull, to be able to "teach their kids something" is a just a lame excuse for the fact that they weren't there for their sons...So, I know how you and your Mom worried about your Matthew, because I did the exact same thing... I am sorry to get on my soapbox. But, to expect a boy at 17 to be responsible in this day and age, is not to smart of the adults caring for him. Oh, gosh, I said I would shut up......I am just so upset for you, and I grieve for this special young man, who because of circumstances can't grow up to be the man you believed he could be. |

| I'm so sorry you and your family have to go through this. A lot of people think "that'll never happen to me" and it seems like that was what some of those people thought, I think that's only natural. I will say a prayer for your nephew and family, and I hope that everything is going to go o.k and you will be able to stay calm while your with those you are so upset at.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I am so sorry. I can understand your anger but I always try and put myself in the other persons shoes and imagine they are going through their own hell. With kids this age it could have been the other way around, some just don't have the good judgement needed to safely make it through these challenging years. I will pray for all of you.

| Thank you for your kind words, it really meant a lot to me. We just got back in earlier tonight. I will have to say it has been rough, no sleep, watching my brother cry, his little sister Victoria cry and talk is and was unbearable. Matthew had a prefect service, and with over 450 attending his wake, something the director said he never seen before. There were some fights out in the parking lot during the wake, something I was not surprised about, since there are some really hard feelings going around about Matthew and Corey's death. If you google Matthew Britt of Lumberton NC you can see a few articles about the wreck and the fact they are charging the kid. Something I am okay with, I'm just not sure what his punishment should be since he loved him also. The mother-in-law, Matthew's grandmother is a total fake however i did get alone with her since Victoria was there and it was not about her or me, just Matthew........but I hated every second of it. However last night I did tell her son what I thought, and he agreed but left out crying.....I feel for him and I like him as a person, however his mother help take my nephew's life. During his services, it was stated, "GOD did not do this, people make choices, and things happen, and it hit me..........her own preacher gave me the wisdom to understand she and the driver made those choices and they are at fault for Matthew and Corey's death. But can I forgive is the biggest question..........I have no idea most likely not, maybe the driver but not the grandmother, because she felt rules could be broken and Matthew did not need any rules. Now look what has happened.........we have the biggest crack in our foundation as family. Something you cannot fill up and make it better. |

I know this won't make it any easier, but it was Matthew's time. God needed him in heaven for something special... God was calling him... not only do I pray for Matthew and his family, but I pray for you and your family's hearts to heal and to be able to forgive.
