Prayer for my family I have been a member for a little while now and it seems there are many nice people who like to help everyone out. At this time my family have been going through some hard times. This has just been a bad year for us, husband has been in the hospital 2 times this year, we are young couple with five kids ages 9, 7, 5, 2, and 1. My husband is a subcontractor for cable, we have been working out of state for the past 4 years until this year. We have been looking for work in MI all this time , we finally got it and this contractor was the meanest most diffucult man to work with but we did everything he wanted us to just so my husband could be here with his family instead of leaving us. We went through many barriers with him until 2 months ago I posted on a cable forum about the things he did and if there was anything we could do about it. I did not write anything mean ore state his name, but he seen it and terminated us. I beged and cried to this guy and he would not give it back to us, my husband is a great worker and we have never had any problems until this point. Well he got work in Iowa but this man does not pay until one month, so I do his paper work and sometimes leave with him the first week so I feel better about where he is working. Well the third week he went to work the truck motor blowed and we are empty because we took all of our money to go to work, this guy owes us, but I am not sure if he is going to pay for the work, sometimes in this business being a sub contractor you need to take the chance for someone to pay. We are just going through a hard time, winter is here and in my husbands work he can not work when the ground is frozen, we normally have money saved to get us through but we have been through a lot. I would just like for everyones prayer to help us have a good Christmas for our kids and get through this hard time. I know many people are going through hard times, please pray for us. Thanks to all Christina

Prayers going up. We have been " hit hard " this year also. I was a student and found out I was pregnant four WEEKS before I had my baby girl ( she is 3 months now ) my car was hit and totled when she was 3 weeks old and we are raising my sister that passed away daughter who is 5 yrs. Both girls need clothes really bad so I have been on craigslist, ebay, etc...looking for cute things that are affordable for us right now. I am use to mall shopping....we have boys that are 17 and 19 years and we always shoped AE and other popular mall stores. I always longed for a little girl and dreamed of her being dressed little smocked outfits, etc... Now, I am happy to find their size that is in style, even if its used. I always did HUGE Christmas' for the boys....it was nothing to spend 2000 until one year my car broke down right after Christmas and I had no money in savings from the Christmas bounus b/c I spent it all shopping.....I learned that year to scale back. Now, raising the girls.....I understand it dosen't take a lot to make a child happy. It's in decorating the tree, making new traditions, and memories etc.....Its weird....this will be the smallest Christmas I have ever had, but its SO much better and less stress. I am just looking forward to being with family and friends. Your older children...I would just try to get one or two things they really want and then just cheap little odds and end. The younger ones......your lucky you can find chep things they will love anywhere. I may not be much help b/c this is the first time I can't go out and spend a lot b/c I need everyday stuff right now but, I plan on doing the tree hay rides at a tree farm here, and just make memories. I will buy sensable this year and maybe one thing they just don't need on the 5 yr old wish list. Check craigslist for your area out. Its local so no shipping fees...it has really saved me with baby equipment I needed. Good Luck and praying for y'all to get a good, sound job. Angie Last edited by Angela; 11-23-2008 at 03:24 PM.

Christina, I am sending good wishes and a holiday prayer to you and your family. Times are so tough for so many. Personally I wish Christmas would get back to the way it was years ago. Baking cookies, making decorations for the tree and making each other gifts, all those things have so much meaning. Everything has been so commercialized. I feel sorry for the parents. I hope you and your family get relief and have more prosperious times ahead. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours,
