| Anyone a dentist!!?? if you are can you please PM. the side of my face is swollen and my dentist says its because of grinding. but it is on the same side that I need a root canal on for years. that has been giving me pain forever and now dentist is saying that the pain might not even be from the tooth that needs a rootcanal.

| Hmmm, I know we have a vet tech, vet student, nurses and I think a doctor here but I've never seen a dentist identify themselves on YT. Maybe try a dentist forum? I'm sorry you're in pain.

| Sounds to me like your tooth is infected but I am not a dentist. Can you call another dentist for a second opinion? p.s. my daughter grinds her teeth in the middle of the night really bad and she's never had anything like that. She has a mouth guard she's supposed to wear.

| I would suggest you call your dentist and get an antibotic for the infection and then wait a week and go see him about a root canal. If there is an infection it will be really hard for them to do the root canal because of the infection (not to mention the novicane won't work). If you are taking pain meds (like vicadin) it also won't work if there is an infection. I would not take this litely. I am not a dentist but my uncle and 2 really good friends of mine are so I know a lot about it. I actually had a friend here at work that had a tooth ache on a tooth that had a crown on it and she was in a lot of pain and called her dentist to get some vicadin but it wasn't working so I told her to call back and get an antibotic and when she called they said "oh that's a good idea." I told my dentist friend the other day that I diagnosed someone LOL. Good luck.

| Sounds abcessed. I have TMJ and have never had much swelling from it, but I have had an abcessed tooth that caused that. Get anti's asap, and follow up with the root canal. Abcessed teeth can be dangerous and can quickly spread to other parts of your body.
