| ![]() Most vets will accept credit cards. Your pet's life is worth the amount of $ you will have to pay to have her tested and diagnosed. |

| ![]() I don't have a credit card cause Im just starting out and I can't find anyone to give us one when we have no credit. Im not a vet assistant yet.. I am currently just looking for a job. And about the "your pets life is worth the money" shes not really my pet, I was just going to see if we could have her legs fixed (which I would have to save up for first) and then I was going to find her a new home.. but theres no way that I can treat parvo and have her legs fixed.. I am thinking about just having her put to sleep cause if she has parvo.. i'd have to have that fixed (which is expensive) and then she'd still have the leg problem. And shes 5 mnths and hardly has any teeth.. (shouldn't they have baby teeth by then?) I think she has more problems than the legs.. we just don't know it yet.My other dogs have been around her, and shes been all over our house.. so I'm praying to god that my babies didn't catch it. I know theres no way I could afford to treat all 3 of them. When I was working in a vets office and had to deal with a puppy that had parvo.. she said that dogs that are over 2 years old most likely will not catch it.. but if they are under 2 and even if they have been vaccinated theres still a chance. |

| ![]() Parvo is a VERY VERY contagious illness. Vaccinating against it still does not guarantee that your other dogs will not get it. I have dealt with Parvo alot with working at the animal shelter and doing dog rescue. Wherever this dog has been needs to be thoroughly cleaned with bleach and allowed to sit without having the other dogs in that area before its gone. Its also not something to mess around with. That poor dog is going through hell right now on the inside. You have to do something for her whether it be put her to sleep or get her treated. Anything right now is better than nothing. If you are a vets assistant or plan to be one, you should know this. You learn this in school when you go to be a vets assistant. DO something for that poor dog. Dont let her die a horrible death. That is awful. |

| ![]() Have you gotten in touch with the vet that you were training with..? Have you called the humane society to see if maybe they can direct you in a direction that would help her out? |

| ![]() Bring her to the humane society or another shelter. They will help for cheap or free.

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | ![]() PLEASE take her to the emergency vet - lots of us don't have money but you can at least get her seen - the ER clinics are open at night and you could work something out with them - I would try to help her or find someone that CAN help before you make that last decision - it's not her fault that she's sick and she deserves to have someone help her....Good luck |

| ![]() The moment you brought her into your home, she became your pet. I didn't make my post about paying for her treatment lightly, but we all make the decision to take care of our pets when we take them into our home. You were very kind to take her in- you must be just as responsible when it comes to caring for her. Bottom line is - it may not be parvo. It could be any kind of tummy upset. I don't think any vet will charge you $500 to do a simple fecal test. Mine charges about $10. It will be more because it's the weekend, but I cannot imagine it costing $500. There is usually at least one vet in town that has Saturday morning office hours. You made your post at 12:20 p.m. today. Last night you noticed she had diarrhea. Your normal vet will at least call you back on a weekend, won't she/he? I don't mean to be unsympathetic. I am very sympathetic to your dog and your situation. I want your puppy to get the help it needs. |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | ![]() I agree - When Chanel had coccidia as a very small puppy and we didn't know what was wrong - we went to an Emergency Clinic at 2am and the total cost was $225.00 ...WELL worth the peace of mind I had and plus she got the proper medicine - IF she had gone another 24-48 hours I could easily have lost her to shock - When they're very sick - they can go down fast....It's up to US to save them and as Jennifermcb just said - Once we take on that responsibility - we have to follow thru....Again...Good luck and please see someone asap |

| ![]() If you can not afford to treat this sick Yorkie, call the Yorkie rescue and they will take her. If she is dragging herself around with no use of her back legs she needs serious care..she can not control her bowels I would think..please find help for her. |

| ![]() Posts like this make me upset. If it were a sick child would your answer be to take its life away..NO !...If you say that you are looking for a vet assistant job i think that you should very well have understood the costs of taking this pup in the first place..Please surrender this pup to a Yorkie rescue so it will have a CHANCE of the life it so deserves. Best wishes for the pup.

| ![]() This post really upsets me! If you are a vets assistant then you should be able to get her care. You have taken on the responsibility of this dog and now you are going to do nothing...or maybe have her put to sleep! How cruel. You said you took her to see if you could get her legs fixed. Don't you think that is going to cost alot? If you don't have money to take care of her now in this emergency then do her a favor and call a rescue. She deserves better than to suffer or be put to sleep because of this. It may be something very treatable. I can't believe you can't find a vet open on a Saturday. And $500 to walk in the door at the ER vet......are you sure??? I live in a very upscale town in California and the ER vet here is nowhere near that much! Something is very wrong with this whole story. I just hope this poor little dog gets the care it deserves. |
