LOL, yeah I could see that would be a hard amendment to pass in most of the south. I was just surprised it could be done without a vote.

Legislation that isn't put to public vote comes up all the time. The sole way to dispute them...is to contact our state legislators.

Indie...I guess those people would be un-married. My understanding is the marriages aren't valid in all states. You get married say....in CA but it wouldn't be valid here in Va.

I also hear he has full on conversations with God (in which God tells him all kinds of interesting things). Wasn't he the one who said Ellen hosting the Emmys was the cause of Katrina?

Yeah it does here too. Just not usually on the bigger things that have strong public opinion. I guess it just depends on what constitutes strong opinion for each state to determine how much the government can get away with.

Yeah God tells Pat a lotta things...the rest of us are on a need to know basis I guess.

Yes, its not like there are no options.

We have no proposals I dont believe as of yet concerning gay marriage this election. We had it last election and it did not pass. I voted against it last time and I will continue to. I don't believe CA "un-doing it" it would be a step backwards, I think allowing it is, IMO.
We have prop 1 and 2 as far as I have read. I know these are individual to each state I thought someone had said from another state that theirs was the same as CAs, so I was just commenting on it. We have medicinal marajuana and embryonic stem cell research. We usually have a lot more, so I am wondering if I am just not seeing something?
