Washington is famous for:

1. Apples
2. Coffee, Starbucks and Tullys are both based in Seattle
3. Technology, we are home not only to Microsoft but we also house some of the nations leading biotech companies, realnetworks, Nintendo USA, etc
4. Music, Seattle brought us grunge, but Jimi Hendrix, Juincy Jones, and Dave Matthews. Seattle is also home to the Experience Music Project and the largest annual music festival in the United States Bumbershoot.
5. The Spaceneedle
6. The famous Pike Place Market, with the amazing flying fish market inside

There is more that I cannot think of now, but oh how I love my home state!

Seven weeks after the death of King Ludwig II in 1886, Neuschwanstein was opened to the public.
Every year 1.3 million people visit the Castle, 6000 visitors a day during the summer.


American tourists are already familiar with Neuschwanstein; the Sleeping Beauty Castle in Disney Land, was modeled on it.

That's such a beautiful castle. We were lucky enough to live in Bavaria(Augsburg) for 3 yrs when my Dad was in the Army. He was a firm believer in sightseeing so we got to tour many of the castles, including the Neuschwanstein. I was always impressed with the cleanliness of the countryside and the pride people took in their homes. This was in the 50's, so I don't know if it's the same. You are very lucky to be living there.
