| I feel bad Layla and I went out running around today.. on our way home (on kinda like a country road but it's paved and the speed limit is like 80 km/h so fast enough) and we saw a lost dog... a jack russel terrier. So i pulled over and got him to come to me... a lady stopped in her car to ask me about him and i said he wasn't mine but didn't know what to do.. i moved my foot... he got scared and started walking away from me.. i called him but he wouldn't come... he seemed very skittish.... i coudln't chase him down the road and even if i did get close enough i dont' think he would have let me pick him up.. and even if he did.. then what? anyways... we left... i think she stayed... i saw her put her 4 way flashers on.. i feel just horrible for the dog... it was raining today... he didn't have a collar... cars just fly down that road.. i really hope she was able to get him... i feel just horrible for leaving but i know i couldn't have brought him in my car.. Layla would have had a fit which would ahve really upset the dog. *sigh* i guess i just needed to let it out... i'll feel just horrible if i go out again and something has happened to him please say a little prayer for this dog.. i hope he finds his home or someone is able to help him. |

| I know how you feel. It has happen to me before and you can't stop feeling bad even though you know you were trying to help. I just said a prayer for that little dog and hope that he can find his way back home or somebody helps him to do so. Don't feel bad, I know is easier to say than done, but you did what you could. hugs to you

| Marci, it's ok. I'm sure the lady will keep an eye on him and maybe even manage to get him in the car. Just check the newspapers tomorrow to see if anyone placed an ad. Also if you have an animal shelter you could inform them where you saw the dog in case the owners call them. We saw a black (looked lab mix) today, but couldn't stop to pick it up because we had a car full of grocery's. It's ok though, someone else will get him/her I'm sure. So don't beat yourself up ok!!

| Aww Marci you did what you could! The other week I was driving to work and saw a pit bull mix puppy (fullgrown but probably not a year old yet) running in the road. I'm scared of big dogs so I couldn't have stopped and picked him up and put him in my car and I doubt he would have come willingly anyway. So I called my local animal shelter and let them know where I saw him. The lady proceeded to ask why I didn't stop and get him. I explained the situation and she said "MAYBE I can see if one of my volunteers can go out there and get him." I was so mad and I felt so guilty but I just keep thinking to myself that they must have picked him up because I haven't seen him since.

| Aww just reading this now. I really think you did the best you can-maybe the other lady was "meant" to find him because Layla would have gone crazy on you I too hope that she did, and that he is reunited with his owners soon!

| Maybe he is microchipped, so that if someone finds him and takes him to a vet/shelter they can scan him and find his owner!
