| I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | People are always looking for new and improved products, if a company is using a new ingredient's that has never been tested, they have to test it for safety, and there are humane ways to do this. Small companies don't have the funds to test new ingredients so they use ingredients that have already been tested. Not buying from one manufacture that tests and buying from another manufacture that used those test results seems unfair. Companies should be responsible in their testing and not do unnecessary or inhumane testing, but it seems hypocritical to reward another company who has "used" the research of the first company. Targets version and other stores versions aren't made by those companies, but by the original manufacture, who just make them for Target and other stores. I doubt if you can find any product that whose ingredients at one time hasn't been tested on animals.

| Donating YT 10K Club Member | I browsed that list....and noticed this particular paragraph... Companies listed have either signed PETA’s statement of assurance or provided a statement verifying that they do not conduct or commission any nonrequired animal tests. I don't know any company that performs NONREQUIRED animal testing...

| Truth be told, I bet we'd all be shocked if we knew what products we used everyday that had been tested on animals. (And what about medical testing?) I do not condone cruelty to animals, but I'm kind of on the fence regarding certain animal testing. I'm sure alot of companies have unethical procedures regarding testing and alot perform it because it's an easy way out, but in some cases, I'm sure it's the only option and unavoidable. (Considering that humans aren't going to line up and volunteer to have test performed on them instead... ) |
