LOL - I check Yahoo first thing every morning for an update on who has won what, but I still watch to see the actual event. In fact, there are a few events I saw live in the morning (on CBC) and watched again in the evening and then yet again on replays!!!!!

Ok, I'm bawling now - just seeing Shawn's mom cry broke my flood gates -- they seem like family here because they are always in the news -- and her parents are just so normal -- I am so happy for the entire family!!!!!!!!

One of my girlfriend's has a friend that works with Shawn's mom, and they said that when her mom corresponded this week, they said Shawn held all the tears in after the all-around until she finally got to be with her parents hours later, and then she just cried and cried.

I am so happy she finally has the GOLD - she should have had others, but she is so gracious --

You should watch it online - it was truly golden -- plus afterwards she was interviewed by Bob Costas, along with her coach and Bela. Apparently Shawn has been battling headaches and stomachaches all day

I have left YT because of the crazyness going on in one thread but had to come back for one post to show my joy and happiness that SHAWN WON GOLD. she was the best!!

Seriously? In any case...

I completely missed the gymnastics exhibition. I had 2 weeks worth of errands backed up on me from watching the Olymipcs for nearly two weeks solid so I HAD to go get some stuff done.

I did make sure to be home by the time the ladies won the Gold in beach volleyball...in the pouring rain! YAY! That was one of the sports I've been adamately following.

And then the 2 guys got eliminated in the 200m race...they broke the rules and lost. And they US guy that got moved up to Bronze was still disappointed!?

I didn't really get that one.
