It was awesome wasnt' it ? as an EX diver & swimmer - I'm partial to to those events ...but I'd have thought you'd be into the skating Jodie

I can't believe Phelps (totally awesome) and just the fact that Dana T is still kicking butt at her age blows my mind - - I'm not crazy about that new space age suit though - i think they should ALL wear the same standard speedos.

And a tribute to The Lost Boy - what a story he has to tell....gives me chills to see him in front of the camera

You forgot I'm an ex-competitive swimmer and current high school swim coach!!!! I do love figure skating in winter as well!!!!!

The 'Lost Boy' story was so moving and to think that little peanut is 9 yrs old. Of course when you consider his bravery and all he did he seems even more mature than his age.

I missed the US marching in but I did see what they wore and a couple of the contenders. China had a right to be proud last night and I'll tell those Italians, Australians and Americans sure have a good time!!

I watched womens V.B. today. Misty May and Kerry Walsh have won 101 games straight and every game in 2008. No wonder Pres. Bush had his arms around them, they are sure gold for the U.S. Men's gymnastics was great tonight.

I am a total Olympics junkie, so I was actually glad when they started splitting the summer and winter games up--I only have to wait two years for Olympics!! I will watch pretty much anything, but I love beach volleyball, swimming, and gymnastics. My favorite olympic sport is a winter one: short track speedskating. There are also 18 former/current Texas Longhorns in Beijing, so I'm hoping they represent my alma mater well

I'm still in love with Mark Spitz - but would love to see Phelps break that record for the most gold

(I used to have a life size poster of Spitz in 'nothin but a speedo' on my bedroom door - my mom seemed to find ALL SORTS of reasons to come into my room after I got that poster lol)

The Opening Ceremonies were, to say the least, SPECTACULAR. I actually cannot blame President Bush for getting caught watch-watching. Two+ hours of any parade would be difficult to keep up enthusiasm every minute just in case we were caught on camera.

I'm a VB fan

Women's synchronized springboard diving was awesome, too. What a crazy sport - take something really hard to begin with and then add synchronizing it with another person of the same ability!!!!!!!!!!!

And the pool has met expectations so far as well! I'm loving every second of it!!!!

Isn't the synchronized springboard diving amazing ? The micro precision it must take to do each move in exact time as your counterpart -

I haven't had a chance to see the actual event - I wonder what the Degree of Difficulty numbers are for them compared to a single diver ...does it go up if there are 2 divers or stay the same ?

I was amazing at how difficult it would be. Did you see how tall the German duo was? They were excellent but it was the Chinese in that sport. I love how the Chinese fans cheer for all.
