I wished your local news would have covered the story when you called Dena, a surgeon probably already could have bee found if they would have aired her story. I'm going to start looking for surgeons in your area.

It may be worth calling them and seeing what they say. If you go to their website, it has a link to the cost of things, on that page, it shows Cleft Pallet prices so maybe they specialize in that as well? It's worth checking into.

OH MY GOODNESS...Dena...how's Emma doing with all that???? Poor little girl must be in so much pain.

I really do wish i can offer some help or advice but i'm so lost for words that all i can do at the moment is cry. i can only imagine how you feel right now.

I will be around all day if there's something i can do.

BTW what about that other place you wanted to take Emma to?

Dena - I am so so sad. I hope you contact the surgeon. Maybe they can look at it and make a determination before it fully heals. (?) I would like to help. Poor sweet baby.

Oh how I pray you find the right surgeon for this precious little angel. She has touched so many lives since August 4th when she came into this world. She definitely has a purpose and is filling it each and every hour with the help, love and devotion of her Mamma Dena

I am sorry her stitches did not stay in, at least she is gaining weight. I hope you can find a good surgeon and you both are in my prayers.

Please, please don't feel this way. I know how discouraging it must be trying to have her palate fixed and then have this happen. But on the other side, Emma is ALIVE because of you!!! She'll make it through this and you have to look at the positive side. You have given this little baby the gift of life!!!

Oh...I don't know any surgeons but here is an idea I thought of that we could all try to get Emma out there: Post it on the Craiglist in the Pets section. I just did in the Cape Cod Section I titled it "Help for Baby Emma" and put a link to her MySpace site:

Just sent Emma's story to MSNBC. Now it's a waiting game to see if they contact me. Everyone cross your fingers. I'm hoping if they can cover a story about the fat cat, that they would find Emma's story worth covering.

My post was not meant to upset you...what I meant to say is..if Emma dies, it is nothing you did, "it was not meant to be"...and that is why dogs have litters, not all live.
