| ![]() I was doing a little research on my own and found out the problems Dena is having are pretty common. Those stitches just don't want to stay tight. As long as she can keep him from getting an infection it will heal over and as long as it heals over he will be able to have surgery farther on down the road. The big rush to surgery is so he can eat without inhaling his food. We know Dena is addressing that issue. |

| ![]() Unless the tissue is red, swollen or oozing puss then she does not have an infection. I work in a nursing home and many of our residents that get bed sores to the bones are not put on anti's. As long as it's not infected then antibiotics wont help and sometimes harm the recovery. I am sure that Dena is looking out for all of the obvious signs of infections. After all she has done for this little girl, I highly doubt she would let something as simple as antibiotics bring this little girl down. Dena your an amazing woman, if there were more women like you around, there would be much less harm done to animals. I was gonna keep my mouth shut about this, as I am not very active in posting here but do read daily, but the fact that she is being told that Emma is being tortured and in pain is no different from some of the breeders here docking tails and dew claws on their pups. If you ask me that is more of torture because it is done for cosmetic reasons and not the health of the dog. |

I am SOOOOOOOOOOO with you on this. I really dont like the idea of tail docking... if the dew claws need to be removed so the dog doesnt get caught of hurt then i can understand that... but I feel like in so many areas today America is behind what other countries have already realized. There are countless things that are illegal in Europe for example that we allow here... But dont mean to get off the important subject here which is Emma.. I know Dena is doing everything she can to keep her alive and When she gets through this very difficult part of her life she will not remember it and be a happy healthy puppy... Yes she is suffering NOW but I think it is worth it for her future. She will be a VERY special addition to some family who will love her unconditionally.

And as long as I walk across the street I stand a chance of being hit by a bus. I am not trying to argue, I am just stating that I am sure she has considered antibiotics, and I am sure after her surgery she had a shot or some form of anti's. I can only imagine that after seeing all Dena has done that she is a very intelligent woman and at the first signs of infection she will get antibiotics. | ![]() Every time anyone voices a concern on here (all of which have been legitimate concerns they are told they are being negative. It is really getting old and tiresome

Others have offered solutions or suggestions also. Just something to think about. Last edited by DvlshAngel985; 08-13-2008 at 02:07 PM.

| ![]() Actually thiis is the first time Ive seen anone even mention if Emma was getting follow up vet care. It sounds like she isnt since she already said shes not taking her back to the vets that performed the surgery and there has been no on of any other vets seeing her. I know on her myspace she said she will have surgery after she has healed but what about her care now

I'm going to be perfectly honest here. I think that there are alot of "concerns" being brought up for many reasons. I didn't understand what the big fuss and concern over this situation was either at first, until I went back and read some older threads. Now I see why some people are questioning this so...you will often see that when the topic of "donating" to a member comes up. There have been people here taken advantage of because of their big hearts so many don't automatically trust what they are told and when something seems out of the ordinary, they question it. Sadly, that often means questioning someone who is struggling, trying their best and who has nothing but good intentions. What I DON'T see is anyone who wants anything BUT what is the best for this little girl and to see her pull through this. Last edited by BamaFan121s; 08-13-2008 at 02:17 PM.

Either way, Dena has been doing a phenominal job of keeping us updated. She'll let us know if Emma has a dr's appointment when she has free time. Sorry if I may come off as defensive or just plain mean, but some of the comments that have been posted lately have been cold hearted. I just don't want mean people making Dena feel bad again. She has better things to think about. Last edited by DvlshAngel985; 08-13-2008 at 02:20 PM.
