Quick update....

There is a really great hospital here.... I contacted them just this morning.... they're a state of the art hospital with board certified surgeons in advanced medicine.... and.... within MINUTES of my email.... the owner contacted me with questions 'bout Emma....

She said that she has a surgeon who has done a lot of facial reconstruction... and does a lot of dental surgery, etc. BUT.... that surgeon will be gone at a seminar all next week...

sooooooooooooo... we have to wait ....

BUT....the hospital owner / DVM that I spoke to said she thinks that she may be able to help Emma.... AND.... when I asked about the cost of something like this... she said that the hospital would be willing to DONATE part of the expenses... IF this surgeon thinks she can help Emma.

She thinks already, just by hearing the story... that Emma will need to heal... and grow for a little time yet... but that as soon as this surgeon gets back in town, they are going to contact me for an exam and consult...

AND.... she said that as for the rest of the expenses... we can "work around them" so that I will have time to gather the outside donations that I mentioned to her.

Oh.... AND.................. when I went to the lil' doggie boutique where I buy the Yorkie's food...... the owner said she'd be happy to put a donation jar up for Emma - - AND..... my son is going to let me use his brand new (birthday gift) 15" flatscreen LCD tv with built in DVD player and I'm going to burn a disc with Emma's video and set it to play continually at the boutique...

So.... it's a good day! :)

I'm so frickin HAPPPPPPY I can hardly contain myself here, lol. When you told me about this earlier, I got chills all over and the hairs on my arms were standing up, lol! Where there's a will, there's a way and I have faith God will clear the path and Baby Emma will get the help she needs!!! AWESOME NEWS Dena!!! Oh I could just hug you to goodness, you're the bestest Mommy in the whole wide world Emma girl could ever have!!!

WOW!!! That is great news for you and little Emma. I hope things can happen to get Emma all better and fixed up.I am so happy that they might cover some of the cost. I know I will be praying that all works in favor for Emma.

That is FANTASTIC NEWS!!!!!!!! Perseverance WILL pay off. I am keeping all my fingers and toes crossed (and anything else that will cross) that these dogtors will agree to help her. Way to go Dena! I am so very thankful that persistence has paid off! You have done an incalculable amount of work on behalf of Emma and I am very thankful for what you have done. More than I can say in these few words.

It is all going to work out for little Emma. All the praying....all the cheering and encouragement will now culminate in very needed help for her having been achieved. She wouldn't be where she is now except for your determination.

Life is good...Emma will hopefully get the help she needs and deserves. I have said before that I am the ultimate optimist. Things will work out just fine for Emma and it's all because you cared. This was meant to be, so let it be...let it be...let it be.

What wonderful news! Things are finally turning around for little Emma. I just wanted to say that I contacted Cornell University and am waiting to hear back. I also sent an email to my old vet. He has been featured on CNN, NBC Nightly News, Animal Planet and Rachel Ray. I thought he might have some knowledge of qualified vets who specialize in reconstructive surgery. But you may have already found the answer. I sure hope so. It sounds like the perfect answer to Emma's dilema. I'm so happy this thread finally returned to what it was originally intended for - prayers and support for Emma:). Keep fighting, Baby Girl, you're doing great:thumbup::).

Hi Dena, everyone...just got home from being at my grandsons races all day. First thing I did, (after I loved my furkids) was check lil Emma. She was laying on her back with her fat lil tummy showin. I felt so warm and happy, then I raced to this thread to catch up, saw all the bickering start again and thought oh God no.....but then I kept reading, and finally when it stopped, all this good news for Emma. Oh congrats Dena, I know your jumping out of your seat with that good news. Hang in there, Emma and a lot of us are counting on you. L.

Wow, I can't thank you enough for going to the trouble!! It would be fabulous if you hear back from them and they would be willing to consult with Emma's surgeon here (if she takes Emma on) in order to attain the best results!!

I am so thankful that God has led all of your hearts to help Emma the way you have... and continue to do!

Starting her last feeding.... we have moved up to 5 cc's every THREE hours!!!

Do you KNOW what this MEANS???? hahaha... it means that MOMMY CAN SLEEP AGAIN!!!! hahahaha... well, at least for a couple hours at a time... but on a regular basis!!!! :)

Oh I am so glad to see some good news about baby Emma. I have thought about her all day today. Oh I so hope and pray that the surgeon will help her. She is such a precious little doll. My thoughts and prayers are with you and Baby Emma.
