Donating YT 7000 Club Member | Throat sprays? I've been dealing with this throat infection for about a week now. The pain has gotten better with the antibiotics, but I still can't really swallow. Does anyone know of any good throat sprays (that preferably don't cost an arm and a leg )?

| Hey Megan...just curious. Did you go see your Doctor and have an exam, or did they just phone in a prescription? The reason I am wondering is....Usually a "bacterial" throat infection will be be gone within 24 to 48 hrs after starting antibiotics. If its a "viral" infection, antibiotics won't do anything. You being a young teenager on the go.....did you get checked for mono?? With mono you usually have a sore throat along with extreme fatigue.

Fresh Pineapples contain Bromelain, which is helpfull in reducing inflammation in the throat. We always get pineapples when we have colds or sore throat. Our son being asthmatic, when he was little I always gave him pineapple as it helped thin the mucus when he got a cold. Sending a big hug from the both of us. Prayers that you are feeling better real soon. | |

| Megan, I hope you get to feeling better real soon. I would go along with the warm salt water gargle - salt water will help kill bacteria. Patti, I didn't know about the pineapple, but what a tasty way to ward off throat infections! |

Megan I forgot to mention that apple cider vinegar with warm water to gargle with really is another great relief for a sore throat, this is my preference over warm salt water gargle. When gargling let it lay there in your throat for a bit before spitting it out. As a suggestion stay away from using sugar or eating sweets at this time, sugar is known tofeed infection.
