Megan I forgot to mention that apple cider vinegar with warm water to gargle with really is another great relief for a sore throat, this is my preference over warm salt water gargle.
When gargling let it lay there in your throat for a bit before spitting it out.

As a suggestion stay away from using sugar or eating sweets at this time, sugar is known tofeed infection.
