Something like that happened to us several yrs. ago. They put this puppy over in our yard and he looked like an ole sheep dog breed. Darling puppy, but, then I would take any in. We had him several weeks and then a knock on the door was a neighbor saying it was her dog she got for Christmas. I let her take him and it wasn't 2wks. I saw him up on one of the busy streets not far from us and he had been run over. It almost did me in. I hope you find someone that will give that baby a good home. Someone knew where to leave him didn't they? They knew you would take care of him. Good luck in whatever you decide. |

Well, what happened in our case was the neighbor had a hole in their wooden fence. Probably the puppy got out and someone thought it belonged to us. I had no idea until we passed their house that there was a hole right in front and the puppy could easily get out. You would think if they cared they would have fixed it. I was absolutely sick over it. |
Poor baby:( She looks so sweet! What if she was stolen and then the new owners tried to take care of her but couldn't and that's why she's so sad. Def. check with the vet for a microchip. She is so pretty |
:animal-pa It is dreadful that people do these things. However, I am not too shocked either... Heck they dump their own children too, so nothing surprises me anymore.:animal-pa I am glad that you can look after her for a while, and hopefully your neighbor can give her a new, loving home. She sure looks sweet. She is a small dog too, my gosh just how much trouble could she have been? Whoever, dumped her in your yard knew that you are a animal person and I believe picked you because they knew the dog would be in good hands. :animal-pa |
Poor Baby, I bet she's wondering what's going on. I'm so glad you took her in and taking such good care of her. She's a sweet baby. I bet you won't have any trouble finding her a good home :) |
that is so strange.. they might as well have put her in a wicker baby basket. you must have a nice looking home/yard for them to just pick you out |
Shes a beauty! |

She looks well cared for. Here's a scenario, new husband hates dog, dog "mysteriously" disappears. mmmmm??? |
 wow I am just now catching up... how awful! How can people live with themselves after dumping their pets like disposable garbage? Things like that just break my heart. I am so glad she ended up in a safe place. She looks so sweet. |
She looks so cute!!!!!! Poor baby. I'm glad you took her in. Give her a hug from us. |
Yayyyy I'm glad you named her! Sadie was what I was kinda thinking too, but I wanted to give you some options! It means Lucky-and this lil furgirl sure is lucky to have found you! |
1 Attachment(s) She is a Papillon for sure my Spicy is a papillion and is built the same way. The ears give it away. Spicy: |
That is crazy!! I cant see how ppl can just dunp a dog in the street or someones yard! I would be devastated, if i had ti get rud if my puupy:( I just cant imagine ppl wanting to get rid of them. Maybe they couldnt pay for it or something and knew you liked dogs lol... well that is crazy but good luck finding a home. |
Just playing devils advocate here but if she was groomed why would someone take the time to groom her then dump her? Do you think that maybe she was stolen and the theif panicked and just tied her up the first place they were near? You may want to place an add to see if anyone has had their dog stolen. Just my .02 Elaine |
just found this thread.. I am shocked that some one would buy such a nice dog and then just dump them.. but I also have to say...she has an angel that led her to your house.. wondering if you got to the vet and if she was chipped.. I will watch for updates... bless you.. anne |
sooo cute that has some pom in it. look at that tail. so cute! if you feed well, ill tie myself to your fence lol. im kidding, if you dont place her let me know i will help you. |
she is really really cute! i was thinking maybe people in the neighborhood know you have a long haired dog and maybe someone found it and thought it was yours so tied it to your fence? some ppl cant tell the diff btwn dogs.. but who knows.. just glad it was at least tied there rather than let loose to run around cars and stuff |
it seems like the owner who tied their dog to your fence knew that you would help.. you must have a great pet home and he/she knew it.. it was very irresponsible, but people are desparate these days with forclosures and the price of gas.. maybe you have a reputation as a great lover of animals. maybe the other option was the pound.. i bet this type of thing is becoming more common.. best wishes..:animal-pa |
Poor furbaby!!! I am glad she is OK and with you. I wonder if someone found her running down the street with her leash on and decided to tie her to your fence? She is so cute ....I cannot imagine someone not wanting her!!! I hope all works out!!! |

I am so shocked that there are people in the world that would treat their pets so badly! I'm glad that "Sadie" is in good hands for the time being though! |
Just wanted to update everyone on Sadie ... We got to know her a little more last night and this is what we came to ... Sadie is very housebroken, she only goes outside. She does extremely well on the leash. So we're guessing the previous owners took her out daily. She doesn't strike me as a dog that would run off. We also went out this morning and asked some of the neighboring dog owners if they have ever seen this dog before. But no one has, so we're thinking someone perhaps drove by and dumped their dog. As for the grooming statement, I thought she was kind of groomed recently because I was not too familiar with other breeds coat. But after some research it seems that is just how a papillon coat is. She does have a few clumps of matting and such. So it doesn't seem the previous owners knew how to take care of her. We are going to pay the vet a little visit later to just double check if she has a chip. Incase she is stolen and the thieves just didn't want the responsibility anymore. |
Thanks for the update. It will be easier to re-home her knowing she is already house broken. |
