Funny that you say that I saw an article in the papers not so long ago. People were doing that becuase the ASPCA was also charging a surrender fee...even if it wasn't your animal.

This is sad, but very true. I would still check with the local vets and look for a chip. You might also call any local rescue places and see if anyone has inquired about a dog fitting that description.

By the way...you are a wonderful, wonderful person!!! :D Your neighbors probably all know that too. What an angel you are to help these poor furbabies.

oh man - it could have been worse for the dog - at least they choose someone who loves dogs and maybe they thought you'd take good care of her ?

that's soooooooooooooooo sad though....she must be so scared

Ok I just went outside to look around and I found a bag of food, some rawhides and a dirty dog bed. I don't think she was lost or found ....

What a cutiepie! I will tell you why the dogs are being dumped at your place. The sorry owners are "led" to your house because the dog's guardian angels know that you will take care of them :D

I hope your neighbor is able/willing to take this precious little one and give her a loving forever home.

I won't even start on the sorry example of a human that tied her to your fence and left. My words and thoughts on that subject aren't appropriate for writing here. All I will say is that anyone who dumps a dog should be taken into the forest and tied to a tree and left there - forever.

I'm such an idiot I should have looked around to see if anyone was watching me take the dog in. The owner probably waited till I took the dog in then dumped all her belongings in my yard.

I really can't believe someone would do that. I guess it's a little better than dumping at the side of the road, but really! That poor little dog! I am so glad it was at your home because I know you will find her a good home.

Well, I look at it this way: she's in better hands than she was in before. I say that because anyone who would do that with their little one probably didn't give it the love, care and attention she needed anyway. She looks like a papillion to me, too.

What a precious little dog. I can't enlarge the pictures (because my computer is psycho) but from the little ones, it looks to me like she might be a papillion. She looks like a younger version of my old neighbor's papillion. She is beautiful. Who would dump that sweet baby? :(

I know poor baby .... she just keeps whimpering. Probably because she knows she's been abandoned. :(

I still can't believe this happened twice. My house isn't the prettiest one on the block. But I am the only one who owns a dog I guess they figured I'd have room for one more.

Thank you for taking her in:), just my .02, but she has Chi facial features. Heres another scenario, in our area theres a large senior population, so people will dump their parents dog (usually a small breed) because they don't want it and are too cheap/embarrassed to turn the lil guys in to a shelter/rescue:mad:
If this had to happen to this baby, I'm soo glad that both you and your neighbor were picked for her sake.

She's awfully cute-I think she looks chi or papillion too, maybe with a little cavalier in her with the markings? I am so glad you took her in-it seems that maybe she was in a bad situation and you were chosen to get her out of it. I hope that your neighbor or Bizzymamabee's dad can take her. Does she seem to be healthy? Have you given her a name yet?

I haven't given her a name yet. Any suggestions?

She does seem healthy. She seems to be about 1-2 yr from the looks of her teeth. I don't think the previous owners ever brushed it. She loves wagging her tail when you look at her. And she loves sitting next to you. She's very friendly. She let me go into her mouth to look around, I checked her ears they were pretty clean. She has a very thick coat with a few clumps of matting.

She looks more like a papillion to me than a long hair chi. My mother raises chi's so thats why I am saying that. Either way she is adorable. I would take her to the vet have them look her over. I know my vet wont charge anything for an exam on a stray. Poor girl, I would take her in a heartbeat if I were closer. Looks like you already have a great offer though. Bless your heart for taking her in.

How is she doing with your babies? Does she seem friendly to other animals. Poor baby...must get the good vibes off of you.

People just know who will take care of the little dog they can not take care any longer. Times are hard right now with the cost of living sky rocketing ... people are having a hard time caring for their pets . Thank God you were there for it .

This is a terrible thing for someone to do. I am just so happy that you were actually home.
My first thought was that maybe someone stole her from her org. owners and then did not know what to do w/her so they just tied her up to any random fence. But that went out the window when I read your post about her stuff then being left behind.
I hope you are able to find her a wonderful home and bless you for taking her in until you do!!!!:thumbup:

Well I personally cannot believe someone would leave their poor baby on someones door step, that is just awful. At least they found a decent hearted person who will try and find her a home... Good luck!
