| Say WHAT???? Since I posted my big fat thread I have been watching my diet and exercising. After careful consideration on what I thought would hold my interest I chose Yoga Booty Ballet. I like yoga. I like ballet. My booty could definitely use some work. It seemed a logical choice. Instead of watching the entire video beginning to end like it suggests, I've been just turning it on and practicing one step at a time. For the past several days I have stepped left and right, zig zagged, and even managed to "make it funky". I have the house to myself today so I decided to put my funky skills to the test and try the entire first routine. I am pleased to announce that I made it! I was huffing and puffing and truly thought I was going to die towards the end, but I did it. THEN SHE SAID IT! That witch had the nerve to say, "Congratulations! You made it through the WARM UP." Excuse me?? I just nearly died and only barely by the skin of my teeth made it through the WHAT? She has got to be sh__ing me! I know we all have to start somewhere but I was truly shocked that that was ONLY the WARM UP. Wheeeew! God and peace be with me while I try to lose this weight.

| OH I love Yoga Booty Ballet!!!!! I have all the dvd's including the master series!!! I have my ACE group fitness instructor license, and have considered getting some training with them for continuing ed because I think "T" and Gillian are just totally awesome!! They know their stuff!! It will get easier as Patti just said up above, but whoa it is pretty intense starting out!! Good for you getting started with the set!! I LOVE their dance moves...the dance is my favorite part. I love the cardio cabaret burlesque style. Do you have that one? Have you ever taken ballet? Whoa it makes me have a whole new appreciation for what it must take to be a ballerina!!!! I think those are the hardest segments!!! Good luck!!

I took ballet for 6 years but it was from age 3 to age 9 so it doesn't count lol. I did sit down and watch the rest of the DVD - decided I didn't like the surprise factor so much after all. I love how during the ballet part she says "and don't worry, your leg doesn't have to go as high as mine". Well THAT is a good thing because after nearly dying from the warm up the last thing I need is dislocated hips! Ok here is the REALLY freaky thing, aside from the near death experience, I think I actually LIKE yoga booty ballet. I mean, I'm still alive and so far not that sore and it was kind of fun. I'm sorta thinking I MIGHT try it again. And when I grow up (or down in this case lol) I SO want T's body and G's workout outfits! LOL

You are so funnywith your dislocated hips and near death experiences!! Thanks for the chuckles tonight!! No I think 6 years of ballet definitely counts!! I had a toe surgery about 3 years agoand it has been awful getting over it (you would not think one little TOE could cause much problem uggg!)but it had affected my whole left side, and I think that ballet part really helped to open up my hips etc......see you have dislocated hips....mine were glued together). I totally didn't follow the recommended program , and immediately ripped into the dance ones listed above instead of the beginner/advanced dvd with all the introduction on it. If you started with that beginner one....whew I almost thought that was harder than the advanced, if we are talking about the same dvd. Honestly, those dance ones are much easier than that first tape, but the first one does introduce you to those other moves that you use in the others. You might just wanna put those dance ones on and watch them first to see what they are like. I want you to stay a full pledged yoga booty balleter since you are getting such a great start, and it might help to know that they are not all that intense (inmyop)! And oh yes, I totally agree with their outfits too!! You can get on their website, and they do offer some of their outfits on there, and at least provide the names of the companies they buy from. I purchased a pair of comfy big yoga shorts that I love. I also enjoyed watching their scenery in the various dvd's....they do good with backdrops/curtains/colors etc. Have fun!!

| Good for you, Grayelene! It's hard starting ANY exercise program. I used to do Jane Fonda twice a day - before work, then in the evening after the kids were fed and homework done. She's SADISTIC! Now I have arthritis and a bad back and am doing water aerobics at a gym in the local hospital. You can DO IT!

Therapy Dog Donating Member | Hahahaha you sound like me! I have those dvds and tons more...my husband laughs when I get something in the mail as I am addicted to the exercise infomercials. But I need variety in my exercise routines so I have that, Urban Rebounder, PS90X, Denise Austin, The Firm, I don't have the Billy Blanks dvds but that other dude that I can't think of right now. They are not easy but keep with them and you'll catch on. I'm also addicted to books. I find that reading all about health and exercise keep me motivated. Yikes it costs too much to be healthy!!

| I'm worried about the dance ones because I CAN'T DANCE! LOL I tried the yoga section this morning and I LOVE it. I am having a problem though. At 5' 3" and around 70 lbs overweight, well, there are chunks of fat everywhere. These chunks of fat get in my way. So, even though I can DO the moves, I still can't do the moves because the fat is in the way. Does that make sense?
