| Hi guys.... Thanks for all the good advise and sharing on your experiences. I guess if the price was lower I could expand but I think the price is too high to get much out of the renovation taking into consideration of having to live through that. I am looking in NJ....I have been for a while. I was going to look in Fla. but I broke my arm "again" end of March so those plans are put off...now with prices finally falling in NJ I might not bother at all with FLa. When I saw this house at first it looked like there was nothing I had to do to it except put on a deck...but taking a second look I see there is work to be done...like the kitchen cabinets. So unless I see it as a worth while renovation job....it's no deal. It's 2am and I have just woke up about 1/2 hr ago. I have been recouperating for the past 2months and have an interview tomorrow and another later this week. My sleep pattern is so off. I am now drinking coffee, lol. Maybe once I get back to work I'll dream a little higher. I am looking in an area where you don't get much for your money but I just love the area. Doesn't make things too easy but in a declining market I just might get lucky. Once again thanks for all the help. Tina

| Sounds like you're definitely not convinced about this property... The space seems too small, but only you know your needs... What may seem small to me, may be just right for you... How the market is now-a-days, you really need to analyze your options prior to purchasing... Good Luck! I Love Florida! Last edited by nygee; 06-08-2008 at 11:20 PM. |

| If you are not in love, dont buy it! It will end up feeling more of a burden than a pleasure and probably turn you off to home ownership! You gotta love your house, even if it needs TLC, if you love it overall than the TLC needed will be worth it to you.

| I agree with everyone that said to wait until you find the house that you LOVE! Look at homes that are a little above your price range, owners are getting desperate to sell and may accept a lower offer If you ever get to look here in Florida, you would find so many houses! There are so many here that have been on the market for a long time, and the prices are dropping steadily.. Good luck, and hang in there.

| YT 2000 Club Member | Keep looking! When we were looking at houses 2 years ago, we almost settled for a house I did not like. Our realtor keep showing us houses that were only 3 bedrooms and I wanted at least 5. I was about to give up when my sister who was also looking at houses switched realtors and called to tell me to check her New realtor out. I gave her a call and gave her a list of what I was looking for and a day later she was taking us to see 3 houses. The first one was the house we ended up getting, after walking into it I started to compare all the other houses we would see with to MY house, I was in love with it even though it needed a Kitchen redo If you do not love the house I would just keep looking, you will know what house is "IT" Good luck

| That's what I have heard people say in the past..."buy a house you LOVE". At least I knew enough that I just DIDN"T love this house...in the past I was just very confused with what they were asking and what I was feeling. Things are changing.....thankfully. I am sure as you all have said that when I find a house I love (and I have truned away quite a few) it won't matter that there neeeds some updating or reno work...it will get done nad I will love seeing it happen. Thanks for all your support and advise....OH GOD I WANT TO DECORATE!! ![]() Tina
