Only my sister knows this about me and now all of you:

I have been known to eat chilled Eagle Brand Sweetened Condensed Milk with a spoon! It is totally addicting to me and I am not responsible for my actions once of a can of the stuff enters my home and goes into the fridge to chill. There - I've said it.

I have the same problem ~ only a bit worse....I discovered, while in Mexico, that a company sells the stuff in a SQUEEZE BOTTLE :eek: :eek: :eek:

I can't open the fridge without a little squeeze directly in my mouth when this stuff is in my house :ladywinks

I found out about my addiction in the worst way! My sister and I were taking an English Way of Tea class about how to do a proper English tea and the teacher often made things with Eagle Brand. I had to pour some up into a cup and use it in a recipe in class and it emptied the can. It smelled good and I stuck a spoon in the can and tasted some on the spoon from the leftover. That was it! Thereafter, when she opened a can, I always would get a clean spoon and sneak a spoonful at a time out until my sister noticed!!! She game me a look and rolled her eyes!

Later, imagine my shame when I actually bought a can at the grocery and brought it home to "cook with" and later found myself getting the umpteenth spoon of it out just to slurp! I had to trash the rest of the can to keep from eating it!

I'm very, very, very, very, very sorry to hear that it comes in a squeeze bottle!!!!!!! :eek: My only hope is just go never go down the grocery aisle where they sell canned milk and squeeze bottles of the stuff!

I brought some home from Mexico and fated it to die a pretty swift but certain death. I was actually pretty happy to slurp the last squeeze from that bottle.....and begin yet another diet :hide2:

Thats it!! It's heavenly. In Mexico, They drink it in coffee or put it on hotcakes in place of syrup ~ even use as an ice cream topper :eek:

Ohhhhhhhhh................I feel temptation knocking at my door! It's been sooooo long since I gave into it. Have been a good girl for well over a year. Some make HOT COCOA using it! Some people put it in eggnog. WOW! Might feel the need to go to the grocery store soon............................

Ohhhhhhhhhhhh.....I don't dare! I have got to be 'good'. If I give in, it will have to be closer to the holidays as a reward. (My sister would die if she knew of this conversation - she think this is just the worst!!!! :D)

I'm not much on condensed milk but I have been addicted to Eagle Brand Sweetened Condensed Milk since that tea class in the '90's!!! I have only been able to buy a can or so a year - a year - in all that time. I have bought more, brought them home and trashed them as I knew if I opened the can, I would eat it slowly over time by the spoonful like the disgusting addict that I am. :(:(:(

How funny that this is the first post I am seeing and I just put the left over can of one in the fridge.

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooo..................... .......don't take the chance! It can be addicting. It is soooooooooooo sweet and milky and chilled and thick - so good for just a quick little spoonful!

Vine ripe tomato's with sugar .... it how my papaw taught me to eat them when I was a young girl.

Turtle soup.. on occasion

Raw potatoes and I also eat Salmon right out of the can.

Omg chicken feet, chitterlings, and cho tofu! I forgot those! But no chives? Wtf really?

I get strange looks when i put peanut butter on my cucumber slices.

A friend who grew up in England, could not believe i put butter and sugar on white rice. That is how I have always eaten it. Maybe a US southern thing.

My mom used to give us rice with butter, sugar cinnamon and milk for breakfast. Sort of a faux rice pudding maybe :confused:

it was served hot.

when we go to a restaurant that has rice with the meal, i always order white and put white sugar on it. Wishing i had butter for it. And I eat it hot, but will eat it as leftovers cold. Usually take the chill off in microwave.

You mean like the Chinese chives in this picture (http://www.seriouseats.com/recipes/i...riedchives.JPG) ?

I mean I'll eat it and it's always there, especially in Szechuan dishes, but they aren't especially my favorite... :)

I like them with eggs, but the dumplings are by far my fave!
